If going in to today you have 4 REVs and today you don't purchase a qualifying item, then tomorrow you lose 1 for not buying.  And lets say that one of your other revs was earned 6 days ago, then tomorrow you also lose a REV for its expiry.  So tomorrow you'd be at two, in this example.

I think that's how it works.

Anyhow, thanks DAZ for reinstating my lost REV and for upping the REV validity period.  Kinda confusing, but I'm finding value in this sale structure, moreso than last year.

With the revision you don't lose for not buying. Every day you buy one or more qualifying items you get a Rev, which lasts for six days. Your additional discount is 10% per Rev, up to 40%. So you can skip days (up to 2) and still get the full 40% extra discount. Expiry is purely by time elapsed.

Thanks Richard. This makes sense. But if I'm at 4 revs now, to stay that way, I can skip two days, but then need to buy every day for four days,

Thanks Richard, so I'm at 4 revs now. I can not buy tomorrow or Wednesday, but if I don't buy Thursday, I'll lose a Rev? And the same Friday Saturday Sunday (buy a new release or lose a Rev) . Then I can wait til Wednesday to buy again? Is this correct?

Im assuming all our revs are the same now (as the bundle buyers extras will have expired.) Under the old system, I bought on day 1,2,3,4 and earned 4 revs. On day 5 if didn't buy, I'd lose a Rev.

But now the validity is extended, so my revs are good for two more days, therefore if I don't buy again after two days of no buying (day 7), I lose a Rev every day?

This would mean 2 days grace, but four days in a row, two days grace etc? To stay at 4 revs?

    Yes.

Your going to "magically" lose revs this way if you keep thinking about the old system (or how the old system was worded).

You now need to keep track of your oldest still rev qualifying purchase. Even if you buy today to go from 3 to 4, if the oldest one becomes 7 days old tommorow you will go back to 3 tommorow. New system is still better, just harder to keep track of because you have to remember more than before.

Of course Richard can tell me I'm wrong. But If i make chart it would make more sense.l Busy atm.

Well my missing revs weren't reinstated so I am still at 3 and that is because I purchased one today which means I lost out on 2 extra discounts on my purchases

Edit: My missing rev just showed up which puts my back to 40%, but what about the additional disount that would not be received because the revs were incorrect?  Will that be credited back to my account?  I know it doesn't amount to a whole lot but the canadian dollar isn't worth much in US funds right now so every penny I save on products helps

Bought something today cos I needed poses......not really following this rev sale at all, but i did notice that my rev did not move at all from what it was before i purchased. It's still sitting on the same. So basically, I didn't get a rev from purchasing one of today's items.

A lot of people have been getting this. The fix is either wait a bit then look again, or do lots of browser page-refreshes, or do the logout-login dance. Which fix applies to you? Toss a coin and see if it comes down:

    1. Heads
    2. Tails
    3. Edge
    4. Stuck to ceiling
    5. Caught in mid-air by a passing bird because it's shiny

    wink

you have to wait a bit, sometimes log in and out fixes it.

  • We can't really do anything in the forums for the situation with revs, so we are gently reminding for actual help with them, you need to put in a ticket.

I asked on another thread but it should be answered here I think. When did the 6 days kick in, is it for all the REV items so far? In other words, I bought something every day, so since today is Tuesday, the Thursday purchases would be expiring AFTER today? Correct?

  • jakibluejakiblue Posts: 7,281

I'm pretty sure the caught in mid-air by passing bird applies here.

    LOL.

However, I thought of something else.....it's ONE rev per day isn't it? I bought a pose set today cos i needed poses....but I'm thinking I picked something up last night (can't exactly remember now), so curious whether that means two purchases in a 24 hour period still only gives the ONE rev.

  • Hmmm.  Lost revs again this morning even with a purchase yesterday.  Relogged in, same deal.  Eh well.

Making a purchase doesn't prevent older revs from expiring. It just adds one more to your stack. So if your oldest qualifying purchase lapses to 7 days you will still lose a rev. So in order to know when you will or won't lose a rev, you need to know when your last 4 qualifying purchases where...it's a bit tough.

  • Gotcha and thanks for the reply.  I haven't really kept up with the sale but I swear the terms were slightly different from day one.  Not a biggie.  Thanks again.

Yes, they recently changed the wording and rules to be more releaxed. However now it's a tad harder to keep track of when a rev expires. But you do get 6 days before a rev expires now, instead of the original 4.

Frankly, I still don't get it.

I login today because a release looks interesting... the on-site message says I have 20% off... yet the sale page says I have 1 Rev and I am only getting the 10%.

i think things may be in process of updating as we type.

    Revs are gone.

Any combination of items from the New Featured, Still Featured, Featured Artist Catalogs, & Even More sections below are:

    ONE for 40% OFF   |   TWO for 50% OFF   |   THREE+ for 60% OFF

That sucks; so if I buy the item I was considering I now only get 40%; I would have had way more; typical the whiners win.

did you have any revs? Did you get a personal message with special info?

So I have; do you know if it has a time span? I'd hate it to expire after one purchase, or tomorrow. Maybe Richard or someone else can say.

I'm not generally a fan of buy one for x% two for x% etc. I rarely want more than one item.

I actually liked how this one worked; sure one had to pay attention, and watch the time, but it suited my buying.
