criticism on pose sets

Hello,

I really like pose sets and use them a lot, what I do not like since the genesis figures and have to criticize is that nearly every pose in a pose set also has expressions and nearly every time I had to restore the head just to get the expression of the face to default. Is it not possible to create full body poses without expressions and add the expressions extra?

  • It is possible. Some sets have expressions that the artist thinks should go with the pose and they include it.

Check the expressions section and turn the dials in there to zero.

I consider pose sets that comes with expressions a bonus as most pose sets don't include them.  Personally, I would create or locate a reset expression from another set and add it to the scripts menu --> Select the head reset preset, right click and select Create Custom Action

I consider them a bonus too, but only when they are separate from the pose set. Many pose sets include them separate.

seperate is good, included in the pose is bad :) so we have the same opinion on that :)

I'd like expression sets that have smirks, sarcatic smiles, evil grins....

Not really on topic, but I've been wanting to mention it somewhere. :)

  • cosmo, are you saying that the pose sets you have DO have expressions and are you asking if pose sets can be made with poses and expressions separately, rather than what you have?  What sets are you working with that do this?  I know when I've done expressions in my pose sets, they are separate.  I also add a pose to zero out expressions because adding another pose will not normally remove an expression and if a second expression is added, it can compound over the first one.

expression sets are good and also good included in pose sets but seperated from the pose itself. I use a lot of expression on v4 but I like the expressions seperated from the poses I use..

I don't know that I have a single pose pack that applies an expression at the same time.

What products are you using that do this?

think a few of mine sometimes have had matching expressions to some poses not sure wich though as when I select poses I look in the all files options but usually when they are they fit with the pose. ironman13 though she does a lot of great poses and a lot of her stuff not only do you have a full pose option you also have mix match options with seperate poses for upper lower parts of the body, seperate arm poses left and right same with the legs, even has a lot of mix match expression poses where you can select diferent eye, mouth and other facial expression combos like tongue don't think she's done a nose one yet yet anyway but she may

she's released a new v7 expression set today too i13 100 Essential Expressions for Victoria 7

wonder if she sits in front of the mirror to get these ideas she comes up with a lot of interesting ones

Yeah I wish I found pose sets with expressions. I never find that. But I can see the need to be able to turn them off at will.
