Can't download from DIM or Product Library

barbultbarbult Posts: 26,157

I can't download anything from the DIM or my Product Library. In the DIM log I get:

WARNING: Network Error while downloading to file "": Operation canceled
WARNING: QNetworkReplyImplPrivate::error: Internal problem, this method must only be called once.

From the Product Library I get:

There has been an error processing your request

Exception printing is disabled by default for security reasons.

My network connection is fine. Is the store broken?

  • I'm going to presume so. I have the same errors, only when trying to download from Daz. Everything else works fine.

Well...they did say that they were doing server migration so my guess is that if not broken, at least having sync issues.

Server migration? I didn't see an announcement. Is it buried in some thread someplace?

  • Ok, that makes me feel a little better!  Thought I messed something up!

Actually it was called off...due to network problems at the data center...and it was supposed to go down yesterday.

I am getting the same error. I put in a help ticket.

  • Same here, glad this post was up here.

It looks like something comprehensive is going on. I just bought something, and when Paypal returned me to the site, it said there were items that could not be downloaded through DIM and to go to the order in my product library. However, the alleged link in my product library takes me to a description of the product that has no link. And when I go to the top level of my product library, the newly purchased items aren't listed at all.

Given that the main office is closed now, I'm assuming this doesn't get cleared until tomorrow, but we'll see.

  • Oh, it got you, too? I thought it was just me. Same thing just happened.

  • Pretty frustrating since I just spent quite a bit of money...

If anyone from DAZ is paying attention, I hope they take the shopping cart offline until this is cleared up. Otherwise, they may have a lot of orders to reconstruct when it gets fixed.

So ... where was the announcement of the server migration in the first place, let alone the announcement that it was called off? Seems like the sort of thing that would have warranted one of those banners in the store itself.

    Yep. Me too. sadno

And now something else is going on: Pages of items in each person's product library are disappearing. I assume all of these things are related -- I have a sneaky feeling that there may be some prep for the server migration that didn't happen that DIDN'T get called off, and an automated job is running happily along, unaware that it's not supposed to be doing anything.

Glad to see this thread I did notice that when I went to download only one item was in my product list and the date of purchase was Aug.21.instead of Aug 20th which it still is here in Miami . ......so maybe our orders will show up tomorrow

    Here's the announcement (or non-announcement)...

And this is the kind of stuff that happened a couple of weeks ago when they tried do it the first time.

My product library is now EMPTY!

Pardon the shouting, and it's not directed at you, mjc1016, but ... WHY IN THE NAME OF SANITY WOULD YOU NOT PUT THAT IN A BANNER ON THE STORE ITSELF? That's kind of an important thing to tell people! Especially if, as it would appear has happened, something goes dramatically wrong!  DAZ knows for a fact that most of its customers don't frequent the forum. They know for a fact that there's no way the forumites could know who the non-forumite are or how to get word to those people. All the majority of their customers now know is that they can't download and their product library has gone insane and they have no information at all to work with. Not that we have a lot, but at least we have a base to work with.

And if you're going to put that statement in the forum, why wouldn't you make it a sticky announcement in the Commons so that people will see it, and then unsticky it when the migration is over and unsuccessfully not completed?

I get that they're not a huge operation, and have lots of people wearing different hats, but that is a simply inexcusable communications and PR failure.

  • LOL I was looking in the Nuts n Bolts forum for a thread like this. Nice to know I didn't do anything wrong lol

We can only pray that DAZ learned from the new-forum-image-deletion problem and made a backup this time! That empty product library is pretty disconcerting.

I'd join you in the shouting, if I thought it would help...but since it's after 5 pm Utah time, there's probably only the guy with the broom roaming the offices right now.

I have a question: IF this data for our purchases becomes completely lost, then how will Daz get us our downloads back?

  • fixmypcmikefixmypcmike Posts: 19,682

The data hasn't been lost -- the download delivery system is down, but the purchase database is unaffected.  If you look at your Order history, you can see that all that information is still there.

    Ah, that's a relief :)

Download restoration is in progress but there is a lot of data to transfer so please put a virtual cup of coffee on for us while we get everything back up. All purchases are safe only downloads are offline for the moment
