Can't uninstall DSON?

In my speal of issues with DSON I tried to uninstall it andd reinstall it.
I went to Programs and Features and tried to uninstall it from there but it said there was an error and it may have already been uninstalled (I never uninstalled it?)
So I went to 'reinstall' it it said a previous instalation was already detected and askeed me if I would like to uninstall it. I said yes, and it gave me this error:

It is bizarre because I do not even have PP2012.
I have it set to install to PP2014 but it doesn't.
I have, for some reason, a PP2012 folder that just has RemoveDSONImporterForPoser

my issue:
DSON keeps getting worse and worse the more i use it
I thought it was Poser but I think I have tracked it down to DSON because it's only DAZ figures that need to go through DSON
DSON Figures seem to work if I turn the subdivision off but I don't understand why that needs to be done exactly when it didn't before...

Did you use DIM to install it with. If so uninstall it through there.
I don't think so?
I used product manager. (edit: i meant programs and features)
But I don't even think DSON is listed in the DAZ Installer? I installed it straight to poser through the dsonexe thing
edit
wow I totally read that wrong
but no I did not use DIM.
Do you own a copy of Poser Pro 2012 also, and if so, did you have it installed previously?
nope, pp2014 is the only program to be installed on this machine
I did have pp2012 on another machine but not this one
I don't know if it's related but I copy and paste my python folder from machine to machine so I don't have to reinstall all my python scripts
I'd say there's a very good chance of it...
Yeah, me too. Also, some scripts have to be reinstalled, I think. Porting them over that way doesn't work. Go into your folders and manually delete the DSON stuff. And then try reinstalling the script. I think that will solve your problems.
So just delete everything that says DSON?
What if I can't reinstall it?
Back it up first.
Find the addon folder. The DSON folder is inside of it.
We have to troubleshoot one thing at a time. If it doesn't resintall, then we'll figure that out.
Do you have both a folder showing for 2012 and 2014?
So I deleted everything that said DSON.
I tried to reinstall and it kept telling me ti was already installed
Tried installing to 2012 and then clicking uninstall to see if that would work. It didn't
Tried 2014 again, still wouldn't uninstall
so I decided to say to NOT uninstall and it went through
it is working right now, but I still don't know for how long.
but like I said when I turn subdivision off, it moves alright
but I still don't even know what subdivision does!
Especially in the DAZ sense. I saw on youtube it makes for better bending, and I want my bends as real as possible, but does it matter if it's turned on or off?
What you're describing isn't a broken Importer, it's a slow one. Subdivision is what makes Genesis able to be so detailed in its bends and such. But it adds "weight" to the character, meaning it needs more memory and can be slow to update on screen for some when trying to pose it. What you need to do is turn it off while setting up your scene, but you need to turn it back on for rendering. Genesis won't look as good if you don't.
but why is this a recent thing? especially since i haven't gotten any daz figures lately except for aiko and that only loads with G2? Daz Dragon, Daz Horse, G2M are all doing it.
and i did fool with that..
i loaded a male character I have with sub division off but when I tried to turn it back on it zeroed all the morphs.
It still sounds like something went wrong with the install, or that copying over the old folders messed something up. If you've added more characters it may be making whatever problem worse and therefore more obvious. The fact that you have that 2012 folder without having installed the program may be a clue.
Whenever I have problems of a similar nature, I reinstall Poser and then the Importer.
Also, where are the Genesis characters installed? The problem may not actually be the Importer itself, but with their install. Did you install them in your Program folder Runtime also?
I have all my genesis characters isntalled to an external runtime on an external hardrive.
Aside from G2M and G2F. I have a copy of both of htose but in differnet runtimes (because I had to import a character from M4 to G2M and it saved it in the Daz Runtime library. Not exactly sure if I need that still though?)
Then they're all arranged in Poser in different folders according to what they are (characters go in a folder called 'skins', clothes go in a folder called clothes, etc.)
according to my folder count there are 67 Genesis 2 clothings
29 Genesis 2 characters
I don't feal like loading Daz Dragon 3 rn to see how many morph packs I have in him but I think it's something like four.
But I really do think it had something to do with DSON in some way.
The problem started one day after I did some work all of the sudden. I thought it was just being laggy but it persisted until I restored my computer. It worked for like two days and started again. During this time I installed NO new content.
Like I said the more I used DSON, the worse it seemed to get.
if this were to happen again though, is there any way I could have subdivision off and turn it back on without it zeroing out all the morphs?
Well, actually, here's something to try when you turn on subdivision and it zeroes out the morphs. Switch camera views for a moment, and then switch back. I just remembered that my morphs do that too, but it's only temporary. Usually I just change camera views for a sec, then switch back, and all the poses and morphs get restored. It only zeroes everything out because subdivision changes the character itself, so when you turn subdivision off and on, the character has to be updated. The morphs sometimes are delayed in being applied.
