Oh this looked very hopeful : (
How many more ladies do you think we´ll get until Michael 7 arrives?
My bet is at least 3 more.
Doesn't matter, I stopped buying gen 3 ladies. Don't like the skins. Will wait until I can use gen 2 skins with them.
Well it's good that you see the problems in G2M are fixed.
lol I think it looks perhaps like m6 isn't dialed in.. If it is just base male then it lacks the oddness m6 brings to the table.
You'll probably be waiting a very long time...
I have enough female characters and one thing I know... There will always be more. :-)
Just echoing the picture is definitely a composite of the last three promos of the G2M body morphs.

LMAO I did say so on page 1
Hello All!
I'm hoping that the G3M/Michael 7 male figure will fix a persistent irritation: the BREASTS. No matter how thin you morph the G2M figures, or how thin and undefined it is to begin with (in the case of Jayden etc) they still have big, overly defined breasts. Worse, in most of the male clothing, the extra layering then makes the situation worse as they either visually reinforced the shapes, or add extra bulk to an already overly protruding breast, or worse yet, do both.
Further problem is that, in real life, when a male raises his arm, the muscles (because males have pectoral muscles but unlike women, don't have the "breast" structures floating ON TOP of them) stretch and pull flatter, and as the arm raises higher, the pecs (& nipples) ride upwards; with G2M figures, when you raise the arms, the shoulder and arm bits change, but the "breasts" stay in place, and stay defined like unbending mountains. With real males, even beefy, muscular guys who have big pecs, raising an arm will pull all the muscles in the upper chest on that side of body, and will simultaneously raise the nipple higher (toward the shoulder) on that side and noticeably flatten out the pec/chest area.
Jayden shows the issue pretty clearly since he is relatively slim and not bulked up or overly defined, and yet, he still has very distinctly sculpted, unyielding pec-breasts which don't look correct on that body type relative to real life and which don't correctly shift and deform when the arm is raised, but the issue runs thru the whole g2M range as it is apparently a part of the underlying architecture of the shapes and the rigging, I'm guessing.
Here's an image (thanks, goog!) attached that shows an actual male with upper arm raised just above shoulder level, and already the pec is nearly flattened out, the nipple riding up higher on that side, and if the arm was raised even further up, this shifting, flattening and tightening would progress further. The second image (thanks, goog!) shows 2 guys, both of whom are fairly meaty guys, not starving striplings, but neither of them have protruding man-mountain breasts, but are nearly flat chested. Third image is another example, a random guy with no protruding chest/pecs whatever. No morph or figure I've tried or found yet can get this kind of natural, flat chested look on a G2M, those g2m chiseled mountains just can't seem to be erased or meaningfully melted down. Even when I make them the slight bit flatter the morphs allow, they are still chisel sculpted, and hard edged looking. (If there is a secret way someone knows, please tell :)
If anybody involved with Daz's manufacturing process for G3M/Michael 7 is reading or listening, my wishlist begins with 1] fixing how this part of the figure deforms when the arm is raised so that it will finally work like a real male figure, and 2] make the male base not have gym-bot pec-breasts "baked" in the way they are in the G2M figures, so that we can have male figures that look like normal everyday actual males who don't have such defined gladiator-style pecs, and for my long-shot item on my wish-list, after 6 generations of embarassingly crappy male genital models, wishlist item 3] is a credibly modeled and articulated set of junk.
The availability of IRAY has given us incredible power, but all the PBR-engines and high res props in the world don't help when you just can't use the male models as fine art focus subjects unless you are willing to limit the poses to work around the unrealistic figure shapes and movements.
Anybody else out there bugged by this stuff? Does anyone know how far along the G3M generation work is yet?
I certainly complained enough about the male pec issue. I'm not sure anything will be done since it wasn't in gen 2, but I am optimisitc.... Making Mike Less chesty would be great. Fixing gen 2 male would be even better, since, I'm not totally on board with gen 3.
I guess you could say Michael has the chest of a Greek god...chisled out of marble and just as unflexible...
Speaks my mind Serene, If only they would consider updrading G2s! (Did V4 several times)
And well said Genaris some keen observations.
Seems like something that would cry out for a morph product. Something like breast control, for men. (Chest control?)
Breast control, for men. Would be most accurate product title.
Yeah, true.
could use some rougher looking rugged g3 male characters that would fit into a fantasy, sci fi action renders
How about just some rugged skins...getting pretty tired of the 'pretty boy'.
Actually, Zev0 did some freebie morphs for just that sort of thing, although they were limited to M6. I know Sickleyield had similar stuff in her Malevolent Lee package, and I think someone else did the same sort of thing, but I can't think who at the moment. In any event, if you ask Zev, maybe he can point you to those files.
Doesn't change the fact that I hope G3M is naturally a bit less breasty, although since the typical DAZ development cycle, as I understand it, is to develop the male figure from the female figure -- they don't start with a neutral ground and work both ways -- I suspect G3M will still be uncomfortably chesty. On the other hand, the improved posing and bending in G3F let me hope that he'll move better in that region, at least.
I bought Lee 6 specifically for (what I think is) his better looking chest.
Unfortunately, there isn't a way to dial in 'person' shapes into specific body parts. Or if there is, I don't know how to do it.
+1
Yeah - a Charles Bronson or later John Wayne or Lee Marvin - someone who looks like he is in good shape but life hasn't been easy.
That's what I like about Skin Overlay. You can add age wrinkles, freckles, and other tweaks to existing skins.
Also Zev0's aging morphs. Again, HD touches...
Well, it's G2M, and really just these that I can think of at the moment, but have you tried these?

You can always try the textures without the underlying morph, although I suspect they'd both look really odd.
Uh, how about Pec Control unless we are talking about man boobs! lmao
I think folks are requesting a less chiseled Geek God sort of chest, like most dudes have! lol
The pecs just look wrong. Even in armor the breast on the men are just oversized and look off. It is definitely m6, because Genesis Male base looks somewhat better. Lee's are the best in the bunch.
I don't mind more the pretty boy look personally. To me M6, was most definitely NOT pretty. He has very strange eyebrows, and temple in addition to the pecs.
I tended to just dial in M5 shape to genesis 2 just to try to scrub out the weird head, temples and breasts.
I could use more guys of every variety. But a more craggy 'marlboro man' look would be interesting.
I think for allot of folks, including me, it's the nipple and areola placement in the mesh that looks strange, even though there are men in the world with those area's seemingly odly placed (too far down, too far to towards the center, too far up) but for me, when I first looked at the new Genesis 2 Male I was like "what is going on with the nipples, why are they so ... not right?? I researched and did find examples that SHOULD have made it OK for me but it just never looked right. I think DAZ is just in the habit and perhaps concerned that if they don't release "ideal" male figure shapes then the desire for using male figures will wane even more so but I don't think so. While allot of the dudes here that like the female figure go for that perfect looking woman sort of thing I think more folks are into more natural looking males... men should never upstage a woman in the looks dept according to some (Unless you go to a gay gym or Castro street where all the men are pretty or buff or attractive bears or what ever! lol but that's a very small part of our society. I live in a very diverse area where you can see every shape, size and ethnicity while out shopping at Safeway or CVS Pharmacy. Most of the folks I see, male and female, are all attracive but most don't look like models. I think the male issue in this industry is perhaps DAZ and others are trying to keep the males as pretty as the females. I think it's one of the reasons I really like David 5. He looked so odd compared to the other releases but more realistic in that sense too.. like he looked like someone I've met before. All his included face morphs were quite nice actually. It's a shame that he didn't sell well because I thought he was one of DAZ's best male releases, to date! Just my opinion.. no biggie............
A better base Michael would be what I'm looking for. Less of a character in himself but capable of being many different ethnicities, and having different looks much like Gen 5 Michael. I think the problem I have with M6 was that he was too strong of a character and some of his options were hard to scrub out making him sort of useless as a base. Since I didn't like a lot of his distinctive features it became difficutlt to acheive the results I really wanted when his head or torso were dialed in.
With so little masculine content to choose from, what I want M7 to be is just versatile. I'm okay with hunky good looks. What is good for the goose is good for the gander, But if there are going to be few men, I want versatility over individuality if that makes sense. If there is enough flexibility in Gen 3 male base/M7, then I can make michael look however I wanted, which wasn't as possible since genesis.
This is the purpose of the base mesh, not the Michael character. This has been the case since Genesis began. The base is the most versatile then you dial in or out what you want to get your desired character. Michael, Gianni, Lee add to that gene pool, to get distinctive looks. You want a particular look? Then you start from the base and add in what you want.
And the subject of chest fixes, be careful of what you ask for, you just might get it. Just keep in mind when people asked for zip files and got them through DIM.
