4 GB DDR3 SDRAM RAM - 500 GB HDD - extra 250gb ssd - NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 - 1 GB - Windows 8.1 64-bit - 30" hd flat and 19" hd flat monitors.
I just needed a second machine. Backlogged like mad.

would suggest 16gb ram if you could manage it.
i'm currently at 4gb, lotsa a page swapping. >.<
Concur on the memory. Backup drive?
Remember, hard drives are cheap; time is expensive and you can never get it back.
I've got the 250gb, am putting in a dvd burner, a stack of other older hds and I can crank the board up tp 8gb. Next week is the install for all the daz stuff from here, rosity and rotica. I hope to have all of the stuff I use installed by thanksgiving.
and organizing it so yoo can find it again
Also bear in mind that that video card will not do much for Iray, if you want to render with it. A 4GB 740, if it will fit your budget, would be better.
I'd suggest a 960 4GB, but I'm kind of biased because that's what I'm using right now :D
I acually have a notebook listing stuff I use alot by scene/genre. good old paper and pen. Othewise I'd be SO much more confuselled than usual.
Both very good and vakid points, But I'm an old, cheap grump.

Still and all, you haven't even mentioned the processor. What attributes of 3d are important to you? If you are considering Iray, a (much) better video card will do more for you than the second monitor. Your specs imply a low end general purpose, e.g. Budgets, internet, email home computer rather than a machine intended for 3D rendering.
Based on your build, I would recommend maybe losing a monitor to get more RAM. You won't really see much performance on IRAY with that card. What processor are you looking at? You're probably going to get some slow renders.
I would go for a Xeon processor with a decent number of cores, say 10 cores. Forget the SDD, and the small monitor and get as much RAM as possible. 2 X 1T HDD easily for back up..... just thinking.....
