Garments not following certain morphs ...

Hi Folks,

I've hit an odd problem where a couple of garments aren't following some morphs.

Specifically, the Fan Service dress and Romper not following the 'Youth Posture' or 'Youth Morph' morphs from Zev0's Growing Up for Genesis2 Female(s) and V6. There are some other morphs that seem to be behaving the same way (like the legacy shapes for G2F), but these I've definitely pinned down.

Other garments follow these morphs fine, but it looks like these garments aren't following morphs with significant bone variation?

Anyone know of a way to fix this?

Edit: meant to say I'm using the latest version of DAZ Studio.

Thanks.

It would be great if you could post a screen shot to see how severe the issue is. I'd say neither of these wardrobe items have FBM support for the morphs there a number of fixes depending on how severe the issue is.

Ok, here's G2F wearing Fan Service dress - no morph on the left one, 'Youth Posture' at 100% on the right. The morph effectively straightens up the body posture so the lower back goes back a bit and the shoulders go forward and up.

Most clothing follows this morph (and the others showing the same problem with this clothing and Romper) even without specific FBMs in the clothing.

Is there a smoothing modifier applied to the items?

Yes, but only 2 iterations. If I crank it up to 25 then, yes, the cloth covers the back. But the front is very loose at the waist.

Smoothing can hide the problem to some extent here, but then why does the Hipster Librarian dress (to choose another item from the same authors) follow the morphs correctly with no smoothing applied?

Actually, the real problem hits when you use several morphs the clothing doesn't like at the same time, causing the dress to balloon past any hope of fixing with a smoothing modifier. As you can see, the Hipster Librarian dress still fits the same custom character without any smoothing.

Anyone find the issue here?  The fan service dress does not follow the Keiko6 shape either...at all.

If I export it as an OBJ, re-import and Transfer Utility, then it follows the shape fine, but I lose all morphs  :(

Maybe one for the return pile...

It probably doesn't have that morph 'built in' and has 'Autofollow' turned off...

After seeing this post last night I sent out a few calls to friends to see if anyone had it, one did and I've just spent a couple of frustrating hours over there trying to get this dress to work.

The rest of the outfit isn't a problem as the jacket, panties and shoes all work with custom morphs, it's just the dress that's the issue, the dials appear in it but the mesh doesn't morph to match, instead it just shrinks.

Only difference I can see in the files is the dress was saved with SubD while the rest weren't.

I also have the Fan Service outfit and can confirm that its a nightmare to try to fit onto anything but the base models. I basically don't try to use it anymore. I think its just a poorly made product unfortunately.

Well, it's probably little consolation, but I'm grateful for this thread. That item is now engraved on my "do not buy" list.

If you have Fit Control it can resolve that issue for you. You can pull the back area of the clothing outwards leaving the rest of the dress intact. Just an alternative option if you have it.

From the experiments I did it isn't just the back you need to pull out a bit, you need to do it to in every direction.

Before I left I did a quick and dirty rebuilt of it so she at least has a working version of the dress, set the mesh res to base and exported an OBJ using the DS export preset, import that OBJ back into the scene and use the Transfer Utility on both items, transferred everything from the dress, applied the materials to it, and saved it with figure/prop assets.

Like me my friend doesn't use the CMS so I had to do a little extra file editing to get it to work right.

Bejaymac, I'm always transfixed by your profile gif. I could sit and watch it for hours cool

    Me too.

The OP mentioned the "Romper" outfit having the same problems - and only recently a friend said she had had very similar problems with that outfit, not fitting a LOT of body shapes.

I've got a ticket in on this, and I just sent an e-mail to Bobbie25 & Sarsa (re Fan Service dress)

The ticket they sent to the Bug Tracker, and haven't heard in 10 days (just asked for an update).  I sent the PM to the others today.  I will update this thread when/if I hear back.

Is that actually the product name?! xD My girlfriend is a librarian and wears a belted dress like that to work a lot.

Supposedly, fan service outfit was updated, I am travelling if someone else wants to redownload and try it. :-)

Fan Service outfit is working now!  Yay!  :)  (you will need to re-download)

I would suggest if there are others putting in a support ticket.
