Can't Rename Objects

I suddenly cannot rename an object in Blender by simply clicking on it.  Does someone have a suggestion on how to reset this?  I've searched Blender forums but haven't found a solution to fix the issue other than by renaming an object using F2.  Thanks for your time.  Bests.

    sometimes I have to triple click to rename in blender for some weird reason

    A dbl-click to rename。。 a single click works? Never heard of that...

    I use to just select the object and double click on the name to rename it.  That stopped working.  Today I could rename some items double clicking.  When double clicking didn't work, the triple click did work.  Thank you.

    Haha, triple clicks...NP ~ maybe send a ticket then.
