It would have been nice to know that a new forum was going up. I lost all my follows all my history and well just about everything. Whom ever is the lead on this upgrade should be canned. What a mess. Really scares me that DAZ3D a tech company can't move to a new Forum application without taking down the whole site for 3 weeks. It really makes me sad to see this.

Lord help us.

Oh, if anyone knows where I can find all the old data and conversations let me know.

Humm. Dont remember being told I would loose all the forums and history and that they would be down for weeks. Let alone being considered a new member as I have been posting and a customer for years.

As Kerya has said there were warnings about the site change posted as announcements in the Commons, the latest being on 10th May

    http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=190542

and on 15th May there was an Announcement made to all forums, including the Carrara forum, that the change was imminent.

The forum came back again, albeit in Read Only format, on 17th May, and became fully live on the 24th May.

Additionally, the point was made in the original Annoncement threads that Post counts would revert to zero in the new forums, because we were changing to a completely new Site Software package, and it was not possible to caary certain things over, such as post counts.

Being seen as a New Member is only a temporary thing, as soon as you have posted in excess of 25 posts, the status changes to Member.

Ya I dont hang out in the commons. I am a Carrara person. You know the people who actually pay for software around here.

THat is really not a neccessary comment. THere are many of us who paid for our software, including myself. I have paid for every version of Bryce I have had, In fact I still have all the CDs of previous versions to prove it, and bought Bryce 5.5, Bryce 6 and Bryce 7 Pro a few minutes after they were released in the store here. Hexagon I purchased, both 1&2, as did most regular hexagon users, and indeed any DS user who has been using it for longer than the lifespan of the current discount offer, has also paid for their software.

That's good to know, but obviously you missed the point. And I am not here to argue with you it is just annoying -- I mean if you cant even handle a forum transition with out going down for 2 weeks what else is going wrong. That is a sign of systemic problems within an organization. I have been a DAZ fanboy for years, but they keep doing stuff that pushes people away. I recommended DAZ Studio to several people in the last couple of weeks and guess what. They came back to me and told me the site was all effed up, so now I look like an idiot too.

It was only down for a week, they hadn't intended for the downtime to be more than a day, but the transition didn't go as smoothly as it should have.

RDNA was down two weeks last time they did an update.
    Seems to be normal.

Edited to add: the first warning was in January:
