Blended Dual Lobe Hair Doesn't show in Blender render?

Blended Dual Lobe Hair Doesn't show in Blender render?

When importing the Daz Horse 3 with Diffeomorphic into Blender, the hair will not show in the Octane render at all.

I tried replacing the mane, tail etc. with blender shaders and I have not found a solution for this yet.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance. smiley

    Perhaps the hair is SBH.

In that case, you can look at the Diffeomorphic manual section about strand based hair. https://bitbucket.org/Diffeomorphic/import_daz/wiki/Setup/Hair

Yes blended dual lobe is a shader for strands. I'm not sure that octane will render anything other than the principled shader. As for diffeomorphic it converts BDL to principled or hair principled or hair bsdf, please note that eevee can only render principled.

This is a massive resource, many thanks for sharing this info with me Lilweep!

Can I apply another hair shader to the Daz Horse 3 mane and other hair items on the horse to change the dual lobe mapping to a shader that Blender will render?

The Daz Horse 3 dual lobe hair shows up in the texture shader view in Blender but not in the octane render.

This is the error message Blender showed me with Diffeomorphic loading the Daz Horse 3 that won't render its hair.

I am not sure if this message has to do with why the hair won't render but it seems likely.

There are four "geometry" items listed. I might assume this is nose hair, head hair, mane hair, and tail hair. (wonder what happend to ear hair) I am not sure if this message is connected with why I can't get the horse hair to show at all.

It could be that by "fixing" the meshes it converted them into something non visible..

The message is wrong the dual lobe shader is supported and correctly converted. You have to make hair as pointed by Lilweep because blender doesn't render polylines. As for octane I don't know.

As for the invalid meshes that's blender fixing them for the internal blender format, this is usually harmless unless you have to load morphs that may not work. This is not specific to diffeomorphic if a mesh is invalid then blender has to correct it whatever the importer is.
