[Timeline Question] Why does my timeline turn into a sine wave with two points?

Please see the pic below. Why does it look like this when I have only two points? Shouldn't it be an exponential/linear graph?

What properties is the Timeline currently showing? I think it is not showing all, and some of those not shown are keyed in various places. A screenshot of the full Timeline pane would help.
