So what forum section do you frequent and why?
I'm usually found in the commons, studio and product release threads, as I like to stay informed by both products, and what's going on with the Daz community, so how about you folk?

Comments
my bookmark for DAZ3D.com is set to the Carrara Forum
everything Shop included goes from there
why?
I still find it a crying shame that it was put on Daz's back burner, as it's one of the most unique programs that I have come across with this hobby!
If only they had better figure support and an updated renderer/shaders it would rival even daz studio… wait, I think that's why they left it behind.

The Commons. 9 times out of 10 it has the info I'm looking for. :)
Yeah, it does, doesn't it? I rarely even go to the nuts & bolt section!
LoL, good one! :D
Commons and DAZ+
Any recommendations?
I go the Carrara Forum first. Carrara Rocks.
I haunt several forum areas. The Commons and Daz+ probably the most often after Carrara. I've been known to pop in the Art Studio Forum to see if anyone I follow has some recent updates. But more often I go to the Art Studio Forum to update my own thread, which I use to collect useful links, document useful workflows, and gather other resources that I might find helpful. And I occasionally check out the Hexagon forum if I have a question, or the Bryce forum to vote on their challenges. I offer my own freebies on occasion so that gives me an opportunity to see what is new in that forum. On rare occasions I have a product specific question so I search the Commercial Product Forum.
Those two are favourites too!
After WLC, and your post, maybe I might have to revisit Carrara!
When I'm in the mood to browse the forums here, I generally hang out in The Commons.
ditto
I just hit the gear icon (top right) and click "recent discussions".
Same here
Being a cheapskate, this is my order of looking:
Regards,
Richard
I do too and then only read the ones that draw my attention. It also saves starting threads all over the place when one has already been started :)
The moment I wake up every morning, or screaming in the middle of the night, I like to visit the NFT forum first to make sure all is still good in the world.
Actually that's a steaming lie, if and when I do it's to make sure I'm still in this stupid dimension and haven't phased over into a parallel universe where sanity is the norm... I like to know I'm still in this one where there is little chance of sanity ever occurring.
Its comforting... like a pit warm quicksand.
Normally I like to visit the Commons the most... either to try and help someone with some random bit of knowledge I might possess, which they'll usually ignore, or to make an observation or comment that I find entertaining to make... I don't actually assume my commentary is useful, enlightening or entertaining... it's the Cheez Whiz of commentary, having zero nutritional value, is probably dangerous to one's health and bad for the environment, but it is colorful, sticks to the carpet or your pet's fur and comes in a pressurized canister you can throw at people who annoy you.
And just like that analogy, it makes no sense... but it keeps me from reading the news and being angrier than I need to be.
But almost a third of the time the forums freeze and I end up reading the news and become more malcontent than I was previously, which I fear will eventually lead to me collapsing into a black hole of malcontention, tearing a hole in the fabric of time-space and causing other parallel stupid universes to comagulate with ours...
The consequences are alarming.
Or not.
Who knows, or cares...
But yeah... usually I peruse The Commons.
I also like the Commons and appreciate all the views people share there, but ... the rate that responses show up can be overwhelming. It can be hard picking out the nuggests of gold from the verbiage that hustle through. And the herd mentality (heard mentality?) cynicism. Heaven help us! Often the experience devoles into doom scrolling. Lastly the one-liner replies need calling out -- Daz Forum should have a +1 or button for that purpose! Is there a competition to have the greatest post-count?
More than the Commons, I frequent the Art Studio forum where people are stretching the limits of their creativity. There's a strong workshop feel too it ... the roughness, the wonky feedback people give. While the images shared at the Art Studio don't have the polish of the Daz Gallery, I find the honesty very refreshing.
After the Commons and the Art Studio, I dive into the Blender Discussion. Now the Blender forum is like traveling to a foreign country. Somethings are familiar, but a lot are not. If you keep an open mind, you're bound to learn a lot.
Cheers!
Yes, and I am winning
Case in point ... +1 Richard Haseltine he he.
Cheers!
I find I commonly go to The Commons. Also DAZ+ but its been pretty quiet overall. PA commercial products.
No thanks. Way too many sites have this feature already.
I use the art studio and the commons the most.
Heh, maybe I should have started a poll instead as the commons are pretty… Wait for it… common as far as subforums go! xD But yeah, there are some great suggestions here, thanks all for the insight! I guess I love coming here as well because a forum/site is only as good as the moderation team, as a good deal of them fail or are pits of angst and malice due to lax moderation!
a 'like" button would be appreciated
my large post count is indeed due to many one line affirmations of others views
because manners
I heard a site was marking replies of thank you to people complimenting their art as spam
I'm mostly a Commons person, myself. I occassionally wander into Daz+ and peruse the other sections if there isn't much going on in here. I tend to miss a lot of conversations and don't want to necro.
Same here
Heheheh, don't worry about necroposting here, this forum is unique in that there is no such rule, spoken or otherwise, that discourages necroposting, so feel free to necropost as if you've never necroposted before!
I've never understood the in-principle objection to necroposting - if a therad is relevant why not reply to it rather than starting a new one? Of course sometimes people will post to an old problem thread saying "same issue" when it probably isn't, but that is easily corrected.
Commons. Sometimes Daz Studio discussion, PA Commercial Products and Freebies... I didn't even realize there's an art forum (wanders off to check the Art Studio forum).
Yep, it is a non-issue most of the time, my guess is that too many abused the practice now it's been adopted by most forums, another reason I like coming here, it's like a little holiday from the rest of the internet! :D
Took me a while to know its existence when I first joined decades ago! :)
