I'm writing this on an iPad... I mostly like it, but it has a lot of stupid little gimmicky features... like for example "Shake to undo"...
Which allows you to undo your typing by shaking the iPad like an Etch-A-Sketch.
More annoying than useful and I don't see any way of shutting it off. Apple loves to do stuff like that now, adding inexplicable features and giving no way, or no intuitive way of disabling or circumventing them.
But it's been reliable and works fluidly.
    We also have a Kindle.
It's not as great with WiFi and seems to drop it in places around the house that the iPad has no problems with.
Our WiFi router is pretty powerful, not what most people need for a small house or apartment.
I almost bought a Galaxy, but I missed the sale... It seems to be pretty decent, in that I liked the features... But aside from one or two people I know who own one (and like it) I can't really say I tried it out much.

Soon all these damn devices need to step up and do some minor 3D work... And I don't mean halfassed buggy modeling apps.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S10.5 tablet and I love it. I have Adobe's Photoshop apps on it and several other artsy apps. It's very light weight and does so much.

I've got an old tablet - Acer Iconia A500. 10.1 inch screen. Heavy for a tablet - not awfully comfortable. Out of production now, I think, but has worked flawlessly for four years. I'm very tough on electronics, and it's served me very well.

Are we talking media tablet or graphics?

For regular media tablets, I like Samsung

In the off chance you're meaning graphics tablets, I currently use an Intuos Pro Medium and love it.

Don't you have apps for your old tablet that you want to keep? If so you would probably need to stay at least broadly within the same architecture - iOS, Android or Windows.

What Richard said. I'm pretty much locked into using an iPad at this point, although the SHIELD one looks quite tempting.
Graphics wise, I use the Wacom Intuos Pro S (i've also got the same in medium, but prefer the smaller size for day-to-day work).

Kulay, do you mean a drawing tablet like a Wacom or a device like Samsung or iPad?

I have a 2012 version Nexus 7 here. Until a few months ago I would have RAVED about it -- I loved it. Then Android updated to version 5 and it has sucked ever since. Horribly slow, locks up, has to be hard-rebooted, etc. Some of the patches have improved it a little but still. Even doing something simple like reading Google Books, there is a 5 second delay between when I swipe my finger and when the page turns -- sometimes longer. I've done all the tricks about turning this and that option off or on as recommended to get the thing to work better, and there have been slight improvements but basically... Google patched down a update to me that they knew was going to break the older Nexus 7 and did not give a damn that this was going to make my device unusable.

Eventually I will get another one and it will not be a Nexus... The whole "great point" of a Nexus is supposed to be unadulterated, fully updated Android, and I know the newest android is "better" and "more secure," but dammit, if it practically turns my tablet into a brick, there is not much point to those things. I have a Samsung phone that is older, and yes, it is stuck on Android 4.4 and will probably never go past that... yes this makes it a little less "secure" and whatnot. But at least the phone zips along and works really well -- because Samsung will not allow it to patch to a version that kills it.

So anyway... that is my experience. At this point I would not buy a Nexus.

I have a Kindle FireHDX 8 1/2". I do my computing on a PC, reading and games on the Kindle. Oh, do some web surfing and twitter on the Kindle as well, but my main usage is reading and games.

But I really don't desire any more on my tablet. Unless and until they can run such as DAZ Studio and manage my content, well, I'll need a PC anyway. And I can't imagine controlling such a complex program as Studio with touch. It would be great for some things like posing.

My worry as most people are consumers rather than creators, tablets will take more and more away from PCs which means higher prices as demand decreases. I'm not looking forward to that.

For tablet computer the 12" Samsung with the S-Pen is the one I've got my eyes on for when I upgrade. Computer graphics tablets Wacom is still the top of the heap bit their product has definitely gotten shoddy over the years so there might now be better alternatives. I have the intous wireless and I have to manually reload the drivers sometimes a half dozen times before the computer will finally recognize it. Wacom's solution to the problem "well, sucks to he you then." The company reminds me a lot of BlackBerry before their fall from grace. I'm definitely going to be looking at the competition next time I buy a tablet.

I use a Wacom Bamboo tablet with Gimp. Don't laugh. I can't afford a drawing tablet with a display or Photoshop. I plug it into my computer using a USB cord.

I've had the 12.2 Samsung Note Pro for a while.

It's very fast, very light and very thin (got heavy with the cover I bought for it!)
Battery lasts a whole day of gaming.

I can stream recorded movies and tv from my home cloud, the internet bandwidth being the limiting factor.
It has cast HD movies and TV via chromecast and sumvision cyclone without problems as long they were stored on the tablet.
The only problem with casting so far has been the higher than HD resolution and 16:10 ratio caused a reduced image via the cyclone but the chromecast handled it OK

I have not tried streaming and casting simultaneously yet.

There must be a way to use the S-pen as a graphics tablet with a windows 7 PC, I'm investigating that currently.

I've been quite happy with my Lenovo IdeaTab and my Samsung Galaxy.  My husband bought me a new Samsung tablet for Christmas last year (to match his), even though my Lenovo was still pretty new and didn't need upgrading.  For light surfing, video watching, Netflix, etc., I'm happy with both.

*ETA: not sure where the posts above mine went.  I didn't necro this, honest! lol

I got an iPad when they first came out, then a 3rd Gen iPad when it first came out, and now an iPad Pro; they're all still working (my brother-in-law's using it daily and says he still gets almost 8 hours on the original battery).

A few years ago, when Genesis had just come out (or was just coming out) DAZ showed some screenshots of an app they'd written in-house that showed Genesis with various morphs and poses (Freak, Girl, etc.). I would absolutly love a simplified DAZ iPad Pro app that would allow smaller renders with simpler models and lighting (eg. Toon Generations, Genesis). I'd love to work on some web comics using the simpler 3D renders, doing postwork in some of the cool ios graphic apps and gathering it all up in Comic Life.

I ran my iPad Pro through Geekbench, it's producing almost the same speed as my last MacBook Pro laptop (circa 2008). If DAZ Studio was optimized for the Metal rendering chips, it could be even faster.

Don't get me wrong, I wouildn't give up DAZ Studio and the ability to do full-blown renders for anything, but I'd be willing to shell out a hundred or two that would allow me to do the simpler stuff on an iPad Pro.

For graphic tables, I agree that Wacom's the way to go; my son swears by his Intuos (which he carries with his MacBook Pro) and his Cintiq (when he's in his studio).

The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is the best tablet I've had access to and I've used literally hundreds of brands/models.  I purchased one for my daughter to use at University for taking notes, and it has caught on with a lot of students.  She's in a Computer Graphics major and the ability to sketch on the fly has been very advantageous for her.

So they never fixed that, and it now looks like Android 6 will never arrive on the nexus 2012, because, from what I hear, it's no longer supported. I've got the same tablet, and always read up on updates before accepting any, and I'm so glad I did, because this has been a complete disaster. I can't believe they haven't done anything about it yet- that's disgraceful.

EDIT* I see this is an older post. I wonder if the issues with the update have been fixed yet?
