Do I NEED Vittorio to use a Vittorio character?

Vittorio requires ++ morphs, which I have. So in theory, I should be able to use Vittorio characters without buying Vittorio ... Right?

    I believe Vittorio has custom morphs, it isn't just dial-spinning of Morphs++ morphs.
