@Totte #2 - oh yes, that's a great idea - your Michael on the Zimmerframe is perfect (though I hope he doesn't follow this thread as he might not agree!) - and thanks for your comment on mine.
If only my collection was not so limited with props, lol. There is at least four things I had to make from scratch for this, so far. The Anomaly, "Anomaly Opining Device", a comb, and text overlays (original 'Primeval' logo not by me).
Thanks Totte for the hint of what was acceptable for text in the render (Totte #02, nice :-) ), I do have doubts about the appropriateness of what I had in mind. The upper text was done up in Gimp (added the "Return To" text") and put it onto the surface of a cylinder in front of the camera. I still have allot of work there to get it to what I had in mind. The lower text is a simple opacity/diffuse map with text on a plane, in front of the camera.
I spent the past day, systematically going threw lights to find the one causing that grainy shadow everywhere. It's been a long day, so here is one of a few dozen test renders from today. I think the upper text needs to be trimmed down much more, and so much more to work on in the scene. Thoughts about the text?

Every Which Way You Shouldn't - Twilight of the Planet of the Apes
When Philo learns that Clyde has taken part in the ape rebellion against humans he spends many years searching for him. At last he finds him dressed as a clown, entertaining the ape leaders in an abandoned Shriners Temple in Gothem. Philo, angered at the indignity, storms in and declares that he will win Clyde back in a fistfight with a gorilla. Clyde, taser in hand, finds that he is happy to see his old friend/owner but has divided loyalties.

Oh say it ain t so! Hollywood producers have remade Dudley Do-Right of the RCMP as a Busby Berkeley musical! Saving money by employing the Drama Club at Parkside High School for the lead roles and taping in the high school lobby. Here we see the opening in the luxuriant northern woods with Dudley singing "Ô Canada! Terre de nos aïeux, Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!...." Meanwhile that dastardly villain Snideley Whiplash makes off with Little Nell Fenwick (played by Josi) heading for the Alberta tar sands in search of a functional railroad track to tie her to. This version is rated G by the Royal Canadian Women s League of Decency as long as the fans be used to cover up any "nasty bits" that the children might otherwise accidently see.
