Or where the legionnaires in Beau Geste ended up.

Now THAT was a dead post.

POSTLET: To post, or not to post--that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous posts
Or to take arms against a sea of posts
And by opposing end them. To die, to post--
No more--and by a post to say we end
The heartache, and the thousand natural shocks
That posts are heir to. 'Tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to post--
To post--perchance to post no more: ay, there's the rub,
For in that post of death what posts may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause to post. There's the respect
That makes calamity of so long posts.
For who would bear the whips and scorns of posts,
Th' oppressor's wrong post, the proud man's contumely post
The pangs of despised posts, the law's delay,
The insolence of posts, and the posts
That patient merit of th' unworthy takes,
When he himself might his posts make
    With a bare bodkin?

Of course, it's better read in the original Klingon...

I'm innocent, I tell you! I was in a completely different thread at the time.

I believe you. If it was you, there would be no evidence of the thread. From what I understand mods can make threads disappear

Aww! But I did it last time!

I lost the manual on how to embalm posts.

    Soak 'em in creosote.

From the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
    "10.8.1.1 Preservatives -
There are two general classes of wood preservatives: oils, such as creosote and petroleum solutions
of pentachlorophenol; and waterborne salts that are applied as water solutions. The effectiveness of the
preservatives varies greatly and can depend not only upon its composition, but also upon the quantity injected
into the wood, the depth of penetration, and the conditions to which the treated material is exposed in service."

And that's the story of my restraining order.

On the subject of embalming dead posts:

You must first determine if they are actually dead. Rigor mortis is not a particularly telling method. 8-s

(fixmypcmike, love your avatar image. I use the same image as desktop on all my computers. I believe it is the most illuminating and yet humbling image ever taken of the heavens.)

I would think that once you jabbed them with that damn big needle to pump the embalming fluid into their body and they jumped up and started screaming at you, it would be evident that they were still alive .....Either that or they were a zombie wanting to eat your brains!
