QUBE GAMES
Denizens of the daz3d forum, it's time to gather in the colosseum of Qube, and fight to the death over a spree of delicious prizes. Your orders are simple, show off your stunning new qube in exotic locations, precarious scenarios, in the middle of historic events or perhaps just chilling on a sofa. Where is your qube? What is it doing? Let us know.
RULES
-
Your glorious Qube must be rendered in the Daz ecosystem (Including carrara, bryce etc)
-
Your render must have a Qube in it (You can use a standard cube primitive if you absolutely must)
-
Don't even think about using some kind of cheap knock-off Qube from one of our rivals.
-
Standard Daz TOS rules apply on submissions. Think of the children.
-
Post your images in this thread. If you post them elsewhere, i probably won't find them, and that would be unfortunate.
Prizes (Provided by Daz3D):
1st Place - $100 Gift Card
2nd Place - $50 Gift Card
3rd Place - $25 Gift Card
Honourable Mentions – Choice of free set by KindredArts (Priceless)

Yes - 3DL, Iray, Octane, anything really. I can't even prove you rendered it in daz anyway. I just like rules.
It's going to be as much fun creating something for this as it is seeing all the submissions!
a whole month of Qubic art
Blimey, the price has leapt up. $55 when I put it in the cart.
don't let yourself get scared by the cart preview
It was smart to change the name to qube to avoid copyright issues from big cube.
Can we post more than one entry?
Sure, but i'll only consider one piece per user, and that will be my favourite one. (and welly's favourite one)
OK, let's get this ball rolling...
I think the Qube is best rendered large and at SubD 4.
Really excited about all the qubely fun that going to happen here this month, I'm sure it's going to be a blast. The technological marvel can sport any textures and unnamable shades of gray, not just the official one, right?
Rin doesn't seem particularly impressed with today's gifts, but I'm sure she'll change her mind when she lays her eyes on the invisible chair. Oh, wait... nevermind.
yes you can retexture but is should still be recognizable as the qube
Moshi thinks the Qube is the best gift ever...and is already putting it to good use.
I looked inside the Qube. Its "magic" is all smoke and mirrors.
This was rendered in DS 4.20.0.11 Public Beta with 3 nested Qubes. The inner Qube has an OpenVDB smoke VDB. The middle Qube has the Qube texture with considerable refraction. The outer Qube has a mirror shader applied. It is lit by a spotlight inside. No postwork was used.
Edit: I swapped renders to use one with a higher Max Path Length, to give more of the infinite mirror reflection sense.
When does this contest end?
From the original post:
Thanks - guess I can't read.
For a thousand years the Great Pyramid of Qube had stood forgotten in the deep desert. The Traveler had finally come across it through diligent search. He marveled at it, lit by the morning sun.
so, Carrara users are not permitted.... cubed again!
Yes, sorry, anything in the Daz eco-system is fine. I'll update the rules.
Excellent renders coming into the thread! Thank you for getting things rolling dudes
Hey, sorry, just to check-- does it need to have the 'april fools' text on it to keep it recogniseable? Or could we pick one of the many varieties of grey and turn up the metalisisation a bunch or use glow effects like kindred's comp promo?
Makes a great cat toy!
"I hate this Area 51, nothing works properly. What the ... This was supposed to be my spaceship. These Hyoomans will pay for this insult!"
Quberunner: 2048. PNG was too big to attach unfortunately :( (the Qubes just take up so much memory, I think having two of them was a reckless idea)
any of the grey varieties are fine, it takes well to custom textures as well
