Glad to see a new product from Luthbel. I'm glad Daz got him onboard. Another cartoon male. But I'm getting him since I have a storyline with the one-eyed Horus follower club, and he'll be good for that. Too bad I can't see his images because of the new product widescreen display distorting the images.

I'd be more interested in him if the scars were optional, but at least they look better than Alex Capital's scar. I'm not terribly interested in any of the content aside from Luthbel's outfit, and honestly I don't have too much use for that either. Maybe they'll release a bundle tomorrow that will sell me on him.

I like the character and the other content, but not in a must-have-right-now way.

  • Looks good. Luthbel stuff in a DO bundle. Nice. Almost certainly a buy for me.

"Something something male content", etc. LOL. Look at that, yet another male base figure bundle.

Another 20% off for buying the Kui Joy bundle? Is that the only banner thingy?

Daz split Luthbel's outfit into outfit, textures, weapons, weapons textures. So, the bundle is merely the Core Figure, Luthbel's outfit, and a (generic) pose pack. (The bundle comes with armor; so, I would've expected CDI-caliber action poses). That's not $51.92 worth. I think I'll hold out for an orange banner or wait for March Madness.

    Thanks for the links, @vwrangler.

Pretty expensive. $71.50 for bundle + hd addon and nearly no content in that bundle.

No discount for owning tons of other bundles.

Easy pass because of a very bad deal.

I like the character, but the bundle is an easy pass for me. The lack of content in said bundle is staggering.

If the second bundle is Steampunk themed and contains more, I might consider buying it. If not, then I may buy the character alone.

I agree, the dude is a nice adittion to the runtime, but I've noo need for yet another scifi body armor with emission zones. If he'd had some creative outfits, I might have wanted the bundle, but now it's a pass. And what does the Kui Joy Bundle has to do with anything in this bundle?

  • For years,a new bundle came out and I snatched it up immediately. Sadly, the value in the bundles has just decreased. Personally, when DAZ realized they could create these small bundles and charge as much for them (if not more) than they used to charge for pro bundles, I realized DAZ was switching focus from the hobbyist. Sure, I think the Senator is kind of cool looking, but I’ll just add him individually to my wishlist and wait for him to be on a real sale. I have enough Gen 8 and 8.1 guys to fill my rendering dreams (not to mention previous generations).

Sadly, DAZ’s pricing structure makes less and less sense to me. I also find myself spending less and less. Admittedly, I always  find the contrast in pricing from December to January shocking.  But it won’t matter what we say, .DAZ will do what DAZ thinks it can get away with, and they never seem overly responsive to criticism. Oh well.

I like the items individually in the bundle but not the deal.  Significantly higher price than what I am willing to pay for what I would get.  I put together a sample cart with the bundle.  Requiring a coupon code for the six $1 sale items blocks use of the monthly PC coupon.  Add-ons don't reduce the cost of the bundle. I don't own the Kui bundle to get the discount associated with that.  No 'buy this bundle and get an older bundle' or 'buy this bundle and get $5 from each of the following categories.'  The result of my sample cart with the bundle is not a very good deal in my case.

I may use the monthly PC coupon and get one element (probably the character) and then wait for the other content to get discounted as part of a future sale.

Nice character but the bundle is way overpriced and does anyone still need a cyber suit and sci fi weapons? Nothing new here, run along folks, wait until someone comes up with something original. Keep this up and NFTs will start to look good.

This is not much of a morph on Genesis 8 Base, scars or not. Let -Yannek- and Kayleyss do the males, please, or you're going to kill the Core Figure Male sales.

This one's even more bare bones than the usual non core bundles. Oh well, whatever. I got used to buying bundles even if I wasn't very excited about them due to great deals (both on the bundles and on the side), but it seems that's not going to be the case anymore.

I usually buy the males, but I don't need toons and he looks toony - highly stylized at the very least. Nah. And the scars are baked in. Hard pass.

Oh, thanks for mentioning the baked in scars.  I forgot to check that.

Knowing the amount of work that went into that armor and saying it's not worth $51.92 just by itself is a slap in the face to Luthbel. You can buy just the armor alone for a ridiculously cheap price if you're not interested in everything else.

Yes, I agree it is a classy armour, all cred to Luthbel for that, but it's nothing new. It seems as if the scifi body armour for the men is becoming what corsets and high-heels are for women. A kind of staple, and after a dozen or so already in the runtime, what use do you have for no 13?
Sorry, but a steampunk armour or a cyborg scale would have been much more interesting.

It's nothing new. Definitely not worth it if you already have an equivalent and don't need more.

The armor is drop dead gorgeous.  Having multiple armors means a great sci fi battle between several armies, so that's a happy.  I wish the women's armor was more like this.  Too many of them have stilleto heels, overly detailed breast plates and weird cut outs. The figure itself interested me a bit until someone confirmed the scars are baked in.  Meh.  That really, really limits the figure so I'll pass on the bundle and just get the armor.

Does anyone recognize the blue jumpsuit he's wearing in the ad on the main shop page?  I was excited, thinking that was in the bundle as well, but apparently not.

That is a great looking suit. I'm hoping it's a future offering from Luthbel. *Update - it's the undersuit of the armor.

  • I would have bought the character instantly as he looks awesome until I realized the scars weren't removable. I'm working on something right now he'd have otherwise been perfect for. It's great to include things like scars for options but it shouldn't be the only way to have them in a scene. And yes, I know I can use other textures but if I'm buying a character at that price I want to be able to use them out of the box.

I went back to look at that blue outfit and agree it is great. Glad to hear it is the undersuit to the armor, which I also liked. But I took the time to read down the character's page and found that there is a 'LOT' of facial hair with him. The character is showing at $22.03 for me now, with just my plain DAZ+ discount. Consider what a single character is now costing and that is pretty close to them. But I really do wish the scarring was optional so he would be more versatile.

For now, because of vet bills and a recent spate of car repair bills, I am limited to purchasing on Wednesdays and only for a limited amount. So the bundle and the HD is wishlisted until there is a sale he is in.

I am glad to see something I can use when I am able to get back into 'using' D|S, instead of rebuilding content metadata again. And again, and again.

No banner discount for owning most (if not all) the core 8.1 character bundles. (I don't own Kui Joy but that doesn't seem to be a core character). Plus I own all but one of the $1 items. So, no real incentives for me to buy the bundle and with only 6 items (2 of which are textures and 1 is a pose) there really are only 3 main items. So, it is bit pricey for me right now and I'll just wishlist it instead.

You're right. I stand corrected, although at the time I was not able to see the full images due to Daz's new product page fiasco. In fact, I'd said a few weeks ago that I would pay Luthbel $200 a year to subscribe to a guaranteed three outfits.

I've seen some people actually doing that now.

I picked up the bundle. I mostly wanted the clothing. I can't say the character Greaves thrills me. His lashes and brows, don't look great, his skin is okay, but I think he really needs HD. Releasing  a g8.1 without it is a crime.

Eh, I've seen better. I hope the armor is worth it.

But so much of the fun is using sliders and adjusting shaders!

And the outfit looks really good too
