Where is my metarig?

So i know this was posted before but it wasnt answer. When using Diffeo and importing character into blender with rigify, why does it delete the metarig? is there a way to prevent it from deleting the metarig?

It's in the rigify panel. If you don't get it then it means you're using an old version.
so ive seen that, but that option is only if you've imported a character without using the auto rigify on import option. heres what i select when importing a character (see attachement). now i do this because the imported auto-rig is fully functional and easy to manipulate, however, it deletes the metarig without giving me and option to keep it before actioning the import. The other reason why i dont import the character and then adding the rigify rig after with the keep metarig option enabled is that i dont know enough to be able to get rigify working as good as the automated one on import as that requires a bit of configuration to get it functioning well.

1) shows the import options i select to have a fully functional rigify rig
2) shows the options availble once imported - see theres no "keep metarig" option nor can i create a metarig
PS: i need the metarig to be able to fine tune the automated rig as i need to fix/add bones so the character doesn't deform wrongly
only if you want to set up a rigify rig yourself which requires some level of knowledge on rigging.
Yes the easy import is intended to provide a basic setup. To get the advanced options you have to do it yourself step by step.
