This is the quote of the day!
You should totally sig that! ;-)
Dumb question... and I'm guessing probably not, but does this work with shader presets?
Actually it will... When I select the object named DSThumbnailFocus, I also select all of the material surfaces of that node... So if you use a shader preset, is should assign that shader preset to all of the nodes surfaces.
SWEEEEEET!!! Okay, I really love you now!
Goodee, a Fisty shader set, can't wait!
DraagonStorm, thank you for 'Velvety Goodness', 'Burnished and Bright Nails', and so many other extremely useful items! It's always a pleasure to work/play with them.
P.S.: It would be nice to have some new patterns for the above mentioned shaders. I even would do them myself - if I knew how...
Yes that was all it was, changed the name and it worked perfectly !!!
Thanks for all the help
A big Thumbnails up here :)
New set your working on MS?? :-)
I find it great!
Yet I have an unexpected issue : how do you tell that the camera must be for instance "camera 1".
I save my scene with camera 1 active when I save. When I reload it, it loads with camera 1 active. But when Thumbnail mastery loads it, it comes back to initial perspective view instead of camera 1. Is there anything I'm doing wrong ?
I just tested, to make sure there wasn't a problem with the new DS4.7. I had no issues.
Is there a chance you are viewing thru the Aux Viewport, instead of the default Viewport when you save your scene?
Ok, I've just understood, the mistake is mine.
I thought your script was taking the active camera, but actually it is taking the perspective view!
Sorry about that it is working perfectly!
.....
I re-edit it :
actually, I still met trouble with the camera not being taken, and I think it is linked to the fact I do not restart DAZ between my development and thumbs rendering, and it seems to mess up things. (files that previously loaded camera 1 for thumbs rendering suddenly come back to the default perspective view. The aux view remained off all the time.)
Now when I restart DAZ everything comes back to normal. So it's a good thing to know if somehow the active camera of the scene is not loaded, it seems that restarting DAZ solves it.
I never have to restart and it works perfectly.. but I'm still using 4.6.3.52
Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't seem to find the mentioned PDF instructions on how to use the script.
there..
It's not in the readme folder. I even went and re-downloaded the zip file to just grab the pdf out of it instead of having install manager do it and its not in the store's zip file...
there too...
http://docs.daz3d.com/lib/exe/fetch.php/public/read_me/index/20504/20504_thumbnail-mastery.pdf
yay thank you :) I have a billion thumbnails to do and I'm looking forward to trying it out
Just to be sure about how this script works: will it work with DSA presets or just with DSON presets?
The script will only select .duf presets.
The script will only select .duf presets.
Thanks for the fast response!
May I suggest you the next product? A Batch converter from DSA scripts to DSON format.
Just wanted to bump this.... can we PLEASE get Daz to add the PDF back to the zip??? Just wasted hours trying to figure out how to make this work because there was no readme included in the zip. Shouldn't have to search the forums to learn to use the product, it's not fair to the vendor or to the customers. :( Glad there's an online link here http://docs.daz3d.com/lib/exe/fetch.php/public/read_me/index/20504/20504_thumbnail-mastery.pdf but no easy way to find it, and it really, really, REALLY should be considered critical to include in the download! i *almost* asked Daz for a refund on it, because it needed instructions! :(
