  Double click on the materials?

  DS knows how to apply Genesis 8 materials onto 8.1 without an issue.
  It won't be the new PBR shader, but that's a separate topic.

  Since Genesis 3 has the same layout, the Base Female UV will work in a similar way. (i.e. similar to applying Genesis 3 skins on Genesis 8.)

  Those weird character-specific UVs need the converter products that work with Genesis 8. You might be able to do some manual make-up work with those figures that got an 8.1 update, though. I forget if it worked for me or not when I was playing with Kalea 7 for 8.1 in the current starter essentials...

  Genesis 2 and earlier? Uhhhh... I'm not sure what's possible.

  The same as with Genesis 8 figures, you can use G3 textures directly and you need the legacy UVs products for earlier figures.
