If you put in the three cheapest items that are already in the mega bundle in your cart to basically you buy it twice, it'll knock 11 bucks off the mega bundle so you're still coming out ahead. I do have a banner so my price might be different than yours, but in my cart the mega bundle is 58.20 with the three cheapest add-ons that are already in the bundle and those three items come out to be 13.65. So add these all together and it's 71.85 as opposed to the mega bundle being 82.16 with no add-ons at all. So I guess if I decide to buy this, I'm rebuying some stuff to save a few bucks.
Well... with the Orange Banner and 3 add-ons, the Noska 8.1 Silent Assassin Bundle goes to $27.86 for me. (This bundle has 2 of the clothes (the robe thing and the kimono thing), so 2 of the clothing texture add-ons make sense towards the 3+ add-on discount.)
If you want the HD, then maybe the other Bundle can also work for you... although it's a bit more expensive. (The other clothing texture add-on, the other figure, plus the HD.)
I'd get the Mega Bundle, but the lack of sales discounts is super annoying...

I gather that you don't get as big of a coupon at a latter date if you buy both the smaller bundles instead of the mega bundle, nor as big of a discount on the "Amazing Items." Is that correct?

The deal says $20 coupon.
Also, the Orange Banner says only 20% off the smaller bundles (versus 30% off the Mega Bundle).
So it's a lesser deal, yes.

I also already own several of the items in the mega bundle from previous purchases. THAT is a bummer as it lessens the deal further.
I suspect some of that is down to the first item, which makes two debut new in the cart and so takes the discount on the bundle from 40% to 50%.
Let's talk about this $60 coupon for a second here folks. What's the chance that will be a general coupon versus a $60 off these select items kind of a deal? Thoughts?
I mean it does say, "a $60 Coupon Code for a future purchase," which to me is a bit nebulous.
If I knew that meant "off of any future purchase after you receive the coupon," it would definitely close the deal for me, because that would put me back in the neighborhood I'm comfortable paying for the bundle plus discounted "amazing items."
You're partially right. If I have just one of the add-ons, then the mega bundle is at 68.47 down from 82.16, and then I add the other two add-ons and it brings it down to 58.20. So it's still cheaper to rebuy the items to get the full discount lol.

So it's for about a week, not just one day. The last five or six times they've done this coupon thing for buying a bundle, it encompassed pretty much everything that's a DO. I'm pretty sure I saw people using the Bonnie coupon for the guy that came out last week, so new releases were fine too. Heck, there was a DO flash sale the day the Bonnie coupon hit (sadly I used my coupon right away when it came, wish I'd had waited). But knowing how things go and my luck, this will be the one time it's for a select few items.
Love the character and love the bundles... and so very disappointed with the direction Daz has gone with sales and deals.
Wallet staying closed as I long for the days where we bought a 40-50 pro bundle (after banner discounts) along with tons of awesome goodies including older pro bundles for free, no strings attached... instead of this $80 buy-in for a lame coupon that forces you to spend money on a particular day with no idea what will be on sale.
After looking at it more carefully, the only things I’m really interested in are one, maybe two hairs, and maybe the kimono but I already have several kimonos. Not buying any more G8.1 characters until tech support gets back to me about DS 4.15 constantly crashing with a 1080 ti. Really getting disillusioned with Daz after so many years being a member here. I wish I’d never bought in to the G8.1 line, I hate the new textures. Wish someone would create a PBR to Uber converter so I could use the products I purchased in DS 4.14.

That's what I was afraid of and as it so happened last time they hooked me on this type of deal, that coupon didn't work on the day I bought the Bonnie Bundle.
I'm editing this to say that this comment was actually more of a human counting error kind of thing. Trying to shuffle some of the %80 off items to make it a lil bit more affordable. Gas Light Gotham is calling.
As usual I like the morph. The skin is pretty useless to me since I'd be converting it to 3DL anyway, and if I'm going to do that, I might as well just use a different skin.
The long kimono is tempting, but it's dForce, and it looks like dForce only So not that interested. The only other thing even remotely useful to me would be AprilYSH's new hair, but I'm pretty well stocked with hair models. Ergou's new hair is attractive, but its Iray only, and hair doesn't always convert to 3DL that well.
So, a whole lot of nope. I will probably watch for sales on the character and the hair down the road. But for the moment I'm not interested.

A test render of Noska with the robe thing. She really renders wonderfully and the dForce does work nicely on the clothes. I had a different simulation where she started from memorized pose and it draped so much better except it went right through the chair and I didn't have time to animate the chair coming up to get a proper simlation, so I just redid it with memorized pose turned off and it still did a nice job.
I like Noska as a character, but cyberpunk isn't my thing (although I've been obsessively playing a variety of Shadowrun video games recently). I would think the market is saturated with sexy bathrobes masquerading as kimonos, but apparently not.
Noska is a pass for me. When I see false scarcity in a digital format that feels like a blatant cash grab instead of a sale I bail out.

I was definitely on the bubble with similar thoughts. In the end the chance to get Secret of Egypt and a couple of others I wanted at 80% off was enough to tip the balance. I'm a completist and that's great for Daz. Apart from the diversity bundles (nothing wrong with those, just not for me). I generally try to get every major new character bundle drop. THAT said if the $60 coupon is somehow rigged to make me have to use it on a product I don't really want, I'm definitely going to have to stop buying every single bundle like I have been of late. I think it's important to keep those extra value discounts on the older products going strong or else I doubt, I'd be the only person rethinking the new bundles.
It's a time-limited bundle, hardly exotic or unusual. The individual parts and sub-bundles will remain.
I think DAZ should re-consider their marketing startegy. The way this is currently done has a high potential to scare off customers, especially if they are with DAZ for more than a year.
I got quite a few orange banners for the recent bundles. The ONLY one I did fall for was Coral, as I was missing a decent mermaid in my library. And she looked rather cute. All other bundles were a hard pass. Basically,
I have reduced my spending considerably in the last months, because of that. I do suppose that is not the original intent of the daily promo campaigns
Admittedly a little off-topic, but I think my spendings actually went up this year.
The bundle deals might have gotten worse, or so I hear. I wouldn't know because I never bought bundles and I still don't (the very occasional exception aside) so I don't really pay attention to that.
But I'm fairly certain there have been a lot more items for below $3 this year. Plus there was that time almost all G8 core characters and HD add-ons were $5. They certainly figured out how to keep extracting money from me *:/
I got the Jacqueline, Brooke, Jada, and Cleopatra bundles for under $20 each during sales. I do like the bundles, but it pays to wait. I probably would have gotten the Bonnie mega bundle but they pulled the orange banner after one day, Back in the day it payed to get pro bundles but this new structure of having addons already in the bundles and only old products offered as freebies if they have freebies at all seems like they are shooting themselves in the foot.
Um, where did she go? I still have the orange banner, but when I click on it, it takes me to today's new releases and the female mob character is present and accounted for but Noska has gone AWOL.
I did a search in the general store, and I can still find her that way. It's just odd that she's disappeared from the main event section already.
Not sure if there was a brief hiccup, but the bundle is where I would expect at the moment?

In the ten years or so I've been here I can't recall ever seeing a brand new bundle available for just a few days, especially with so much detritus and time limited coupons attatched to them (time limited coupons is unusual too). It feels exactly like a hard sell cash grab from a used car lot. Considering most people get paid in two week or monthly intervals it's a buy it now or forever hold your piece kind of deal.
