How can I install FaceTime on my android phone?

My roommate told me that she has FaceTime on her android phone. How can I put it on my android phone so I can FaceTime my mum?

    She might have just been using the term "FaceTime" generically, to refer to a different app that does the same thing.

    Is it true that Apple just announced FaceTime for Android? I can't find that article again

    The Way FaceTime for Android and Windows works:

    The Apple device owner needs to initiate the call.  After that your Windows or Android device will recieve and notification or text message with a link in it.

    From there it will take your device to the "new" FaceTime web browser interface where your call will be completed.

    I got a new tablet and found a way somehow to get FaceTime on it and it works.  Don't ask me how I did it, as I am not sure how I did it.
