I do... every single day...
lol!
Ah, I see the issue - the DS4 files haven't been updated, but the DS3 and PS versions have. I'll get Jen to sort that and update it :)
Thanks for taking a look. See, Murphy's Law again.
That's why I figured I would ask before I started nudging things around. It would be my luck to work on it for a few hours only to find out that there was a thirty second fix.
Story of my life, unfortunately.
On a related note, I just noticed my DIM is creeping towards 5,000 items. I am not sure if I should cry, laugh, or not pay attention.

Didn't a wise man once point out: to err is human but to really foul things up requires a computer?
Cheers,
Alex.
Thanks! I know its pretty easy to fix on my part, but I didn't want to do it if it was a known issue and there was an even easier fix.
It was Murphy's Law that if I didn't post and spent twenty minutes tweaking, someone would later tell me that all I needed to do was nudge the hallway a half an inch and everything is good.
Also, take a look on the other side of the hallway (the right hand side if you are looking down to the closed end). There is some funkiness with some duplicated objects. See the images below.
I have the duplicate highlighted, but the numbering might have changed (I deleted and undid to make sure it was the right object).'
Sorry for the delay but this has now been fixed.
I am not entirly sure of the purpose of this thread, but if it is just a way to say thank you to Jack Tomalin for all his fantastic creations then I have two modest contritbuitions I am quite satisfied with.
The first one is a render I made a few weeks ago. It's called "The Miracle" and I used "Claustrum" for it.
The second one is a completely new render, "The Dinner". It is about a woman who is sick of eating dinner alone. In this one I used "Baroque Grandeur" which in my opinion is one of the absolute best items ever made.
Thanks for the kind words!
The thread is pretty much exactly that, a place for people to post renders that they have made using or inspired by my little creations.. it's very cool and pretty humbling.. so thanks everyone for that.
Really dig the lighting on the Claustrum image.. nice work :)
great renders :) thumbs up
Disconsolation stripped and scaled down and a few bits of Bird poo added before rendering in Blender
I also made a Normal map for the deck using Insane Bump script for GIMP...worked out nicely IMHO
Very nice! :)
Thanks Jack Cycles is my Octane. :P
When I started to look at the image above I really didn’t like the dark shadows both underneath the car and on the decking so I re-rendered in this time turning on AO. It seems Cycles does AO in two ways, automatically or user defined. I switched on user defined and got this which is more realistic IMHO.
Used some of Jacks WestPark in the RRRR render, and the sofa from the library ;-)
Not everyone dances on a Pripyat wedding
...agh, reminder bots broken again. However, this time most likely due to the fact I am not online anywhere near as much as I used to be since I lost my Net access from home last month.
If it makes you feel any better, I don't get any forum reply emails either from this thread :(
I did now, not before, but other threads have been happily chewing around without informing me.
I think the goblins in the mines of the forum (not the trolls), decided they get less work if they don't tell anybody else about a post. Just imagine making those stone tablets of all the posts here so they are saved and kept for future generations...
Well - Bridge of Cheirocrates sure is a very nice place to make a promo for (my free) textures for a free outfit! Fun!

More renders featuring Jack!
Very nice, thanks for posting - especially the flooded Atrium shot ;)
I found this topic and thought I would pop in for a moment. I am a new DAZ user and am just getting my feet wet. While doodling around learning the program, I have been hitting the sales all month. I just counted and and I am now the proud owner of 38 Jack Tomalin masterpieces.
So, Jack, you can afford dinner for awhile. Grrr!!!
The first piece I played with was the Bridge of Cheirocrates and all it's parts and versions. Very nice. Then I took a wrong turn down the Dubious and Curious paths. Next thing you know, I was back in the '50s with a diner and a drive in. When I wasn't looking, I also found myself in a different GIS universe. And, the list goes on. Finally, I wasn't going to do it, and I even let it leave the station without me the first time around, but, today, I found myself buying a ticket and dining on the Orient.
I was playing around with the Diner today while visions of mayhem played in my head. I can see a lot of renders in my future as I have tons of ideas. However, if you will forgive me, I have a totally newbie question concerning the Diner. I loaded the Preset for the Diner and then loaded the preset for Interiors I which filled the diner with the tables and lights, etc. Are the light fixtures setup with some preset lights or do I need to go in and add those? I am thinking there isn't and I need to add them, but I thought I would ask before going in and adding light to all the fixtures.
Right now, I'm researching how to keep several lights together because I'm thinking I would like to set the light fixtures up in zones like a real diner might.
Love your work.
Cathy
Thanks very much Cathy for the kind words :)
Re: the Diner lights, no.. I don't think there were any lights to go with that one. Some of the other sets do include lights, so be sure to check the description/readme.
38 to down, about 120 odd to go.. good luck and enjoy!

HaHa!! Don't worry. I'm a marketer's dream buyer. When I buy an item in a series, I almost always have to complete the set. So, if I buy one of your items, I am probably going to buy all companion pieces as well. :) And, I already have an eye on several, thank you very much. Just waiting for the wallet to recover. And, of course, if you insist on making more to go with the Dine on the Orient, I will just have to buy those when they come out, too.
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll be sure to look out for lighting for any of the sets I buy. I figured there weren't any for the Diner because nothing came up in a search, but I thought I would ask.
It may take me awhile to work it all out, but I'll be sure to post my efforts with the Diner when I'm finished.
Keep up the amazing work!!
Cathy

I really like that term. I think I'll borrow it. Tell your friend I said, Thank you. :)

I will, he "collects" Roleplaying game books. He just had to buy two more IKEA Billy as he ran out of shelf space in his study.
A good thing he got an understanding wife ;-)

I, too, have a name for it, it is ... destitute ;)
