    Title: "The Price Is Wrong"

    Entry to Daz3d Lemonade Contest

    A Little Description:

Daz3d from Draper Utah come on down, your the next contestant on The Price Is Wrong. *Insert parody theme music here as Daz3d jumps up and down running down the isle trampling Genesis midgets, trolls, and Bob Barker clones in the front row* Today you will be bidding on... *Excited announcer waits making everyone anticipate what will be the next item up for bids* A new website overhaul!!! *Crowd goes wild as Daz3d jumps up and down.* A sleek stylish yet foreign to make work website, complete with false user log-ins, misplaced items and pricing, undownloadable downloads,

*Show cuts off suddenly to a standby screen saying we'll be right back folks. A few minutes pass and text appears saying establishing connection. Finally the show reemerges*

disappearing reapearing disappearing black out periods, read only forums, full email inboxes, tech phone calls, angry customers, confused customers, and the re-emergance of the uninflatable pony. This all can be yours if the price is wrong...What is your bid Daz3d? *Insert parody Jeopardy thinking music here as Daz3d ponders it's final answer as the crowd yells $1.99.

*Show cuts out again, this time with a screen that just says still trying to establish a connection. Hours pass with this message until finally the show cuts back in.*

Daz3d goes to place bid as the outro parody music commenses* That's all the time we have today folks, I am your Price Is Wrong host Herbert Hunklemeyer wishing you good luck trying to figure the point of this *render* out. Buh Bye and tune in tomarrow same bat channel, same bat time. *Camera fades to black showing a puzzled Daz3d to end the show...

    "Alice in Blunderland"

Alice started chasing the white rabbit, but then she realized there were more than 1! "Which one should I chase?" she thought. In her confusion, she stumbled and fell in a hole.
down, down, down...deeper and deeper into the hole she fell, until she landed in a quite curious hallway.
"This can't be right" she thought, as she dusted off her dress, and rubbed at a rather large lump that had begun to form beneath her dred falls.
There were monkeys, and doors way too small to gain entry. There were signs that pointed to no where, and doors that were very much locked.

As she wandered down the dimly lit passage, she felt that she was pretty screwed.

She found an open door that didn't seem too foreboding.
"Forums" she said aloud, reading the sign above the door.

Quickly she entered inside, hoping there would be less monkeys, no rabbits, and some clue as to where she was.

    PA's used:
    Bobbie25: Alys for V4
    AprilYSH: Kleo dred hair falls

    Rendered in Daz3
    some postwork

    The Imposters

    Starring:
Stefan for M4 and Genesis as “Not Doyle?”
    Tamesis as “Not Paloma?”
Ashley for M5 as “Not Braxton?”
Millennium Horse as “Not Millennium Cow?”

    Credits:
Stefan for M4 and Genesis by Phoenix1966
    Tamesis Bundle by surreality
Ashley for M5 by ForbiddenWhispers, JSGraphics, and Male-M3dia
    Gia Hair by AprilYSH
    Genesis Bikini by Bobbie25
Short Beard for Genesis by blondie9999
    The Iron Gate by ARTCollaborations
    The Backyard by ARTCollaborations
    Lantios Lights 2 by Lantios

The issue, of course, is the store’s habit of identifying customers by the wrong names. To parody this I disguised three characters by participating PAs as other characters by the same artist(s), using hair, facial hair, clothing, poses, accessories, and material settings designed to mimic the promotional images of the characters being portrayed. The (gift) horse is there to remind everyone that the new store hasn’t been all lemons--thanks to various sales, promotions, accidental discounts, and giveaways, there have been some really great deals since the new site went live.

DISCLAIMERS: Doyle for M5 and M4, Modern Muses: Paloma, and Braxton for M5 were not used in this production. No Millennium Horses were harmed in the making of this production. Do not look Millennium Gift Horse in the mouth. Millennium Cow is an unofficial trademark of Sockratease. No personal data has been compromised. Honest!

If she can just get that tape over there.
If not we all get back in the row boat!
    :)

This contest and all the renders were very therapeutic.

Ironically, when I tried to quote this and post, the browser gave me a connection error.
A back-arrow and re-do brought it back. LoL

Hey. Maybe that's the answer. How 'bout a do-over? :cheese:

    lol!!

I'm drafting up the winners announcement. Still trying to figure out how to make links that take you right to the post rather than to the thread as a whole, so that winners and honorable mentions can be viewed via the links. There is a way to do that, but these forums and how they work are new to me.

Yes, "soon" is a good way to put it. Some of the winners know who they are due to being contacted for prizes. We're getting used to these new forums and how they work as well as how to best handle the awarding of prizes.

Can you figure out how to make it open a new tab, or new window, as well? I can't see a way to do that, and it's annoying as hell when I click on a link and it goes in the same tab!

Click on mouse wheel or right-click -> open in new tab.

Well, I know that...I meant automatically, like it should, like every other website I go to does! One gets used to such things and then forgets when it doesn't work anymore.

One could always use the HTML target="_blank" attribute.

For the RRRR we simply had to snatch all the images, then Sedor put a number on everyone and uploaded them in new posts. But as we could only have 5 images per post, I had to insert posts between (commercial breaks), so a Forum lemonade is quite reasonable ;-)

    Kendall

Now you're expecting regular users here to know how to use that, where to put it? I'm sure it must be a simple setting in the forum software. They really need to stop pushing this stuff off on the users. There's already someone who did up a script that works under GreaseMonkey in Firefox for the wishlist to show only on sale items. And there's someone else who actually developed an application for our order history, that allows searching and resetting easily. Is that the plan here? Let the users provide workarounds for everything that doesn't work right? No offense meant to you, but please, Kendall, don't encourage them!
