Is catalyzer still necessary for Daz animals fur in Iray

I am just wondering what Catalyzer does and is it still necesssary for Iray in Daz Studio?

    Yes, you still need it for LAMH fur in Iray unless you want to go the "export fur as obj and reimport" route.
