DAZ TO BLENDER, BLENDER TO DAZ, rig problems

January 2021 edited January 2021 in Blender Discussion

hi guys. so, I exported the character from DAZ (G8F) to blender and in blender I made some changes, so I exported from blender to DAZ so I could create the poses, but I can't move anything. so I went back to the blender and created the whole "skeleton" there, thinking that this way I could manage to change the poses in DAZ, but I can't! I've tried to export as OBJ, FBX and DAE but it doesn't work at all.

I want to know:

1. is there a way to export the "skeleton" from blender to DAZ?

2. if not, how do I create a skeleton in DAZ?

If you need to create a new figure, because you add or remove geoemtry, then as long as the shape iss till close you can use the Transfer Utility (Ediut>Figure>Transfer Utility) to  rig itt o match - set the original figuer as the source and the new onject as the target. Do note, however, that ebcause this is a derivative of the original mesh (and rigging) you will not be able to share the results as you coudl with a morph or an add-on like clothing.

I already tried to transfer the rig as you said but it didn't work. hmm, i guess i [muddled] up the mesh lol. but is there any program where i can rig and export to DAZ correctly? I really liked the changes I made and I don't think I'll be able to do it again :/
I just want to use DAZ to use the pose functions :(((

Rigging doesn't import with any reliability from other applications, I'm afraid. What happened when you used the Transfer Utility before?

Please put the Viewport into Smooth Shaded mode if there's a nude figure showing.

The issue is that your model is much larger than the base figure (possibly a result of the import settings used - make sure the preset matchws the one used in export settings used when you made the OBJ version of the the base figure). In order for the Transfer Utility to work the imported OBJ has to be fairly close to the soruce figure - the more different it is, the more editing will be required after the transfer.

I tried that but it still doesn't work. I don't have much experience with DAZ so everything is more difficult. These are the results:
