Annoying UI problem: Stuck tab panes

This has happened to me once before. Sometimes my tab groups get 'stuck' extended out which narrows my preview area to being almost useless. In both cases I didn't mouse drag it out and attempting to mouse drag it back does nothing. I've included a screenshot and in this case it is the content area on the right that is the problem.

Do you mean clicking the collapse arrow isn't working? What does it say in Help > Troubleshooting > About your video card?
The collapse arrow works. But I like to leave the pane open while I'm working to quickly select different parameters and objects in the scene. What I mean is see how far it is sticking out? Normally it's much smaller but I can't drag it back into place, it stays that size. So I can either collapse it or deal with it which is making working in the scene a pain, especially if I want to select something from smart content, then tweak it in parameters, such as adding a figure or pose.
Have you added any other panes to that side? Some panes have a minimum width, and the widest pane determines the minimum width for each dock area.
That was it. I noticed a tab at the bottom called Tool Settings that I don't remember adding. I removed it and was able to shrink the panel. I must have somehow hit a specific key combination or something and made it appear!
