Urban Sprawl 2 or 3? Or neither?
Hello. I'm interested in buying https://www.daz3d.com/urban-sprawl-3 or https://www.daz3d.com/urban-sprawl-2-the-big-city since they're on sale, but can really only budget one.
I'm wanting them because I want a city environment for scenes, I don't really have buildings/skyscrapers that all fit nicely like that. Also, do they scale for normal Daz characters? I own another item "Dystopia city blocks", that starts extremely small, and I can't scale it properly.
I'm leaning towards 3, because the models seem noticeably newer, and from the promos, it looks like you can make different pre-made city arrangements, some more like a CBD, others more like a smaller city, unlike 2, which only seems to be the one city.
I did want to make sure I wasn't overlooking something, would definitely appreciate feedback from anyone who owns either of these, and I'd appreciate advice if you think there's a better Stonemason product for what I'm after (there's a lot!), or a different product/vendor altogether. Thank you!

Both Urban Sprawl 2 and 3 are scaled to use with Daz characters.
3 is indeed more recent. It includes Iray materials and lights, so if you plan to render with Iray that can save you time.
Both are provided as either a complete city, as city blocks you can rearrange, or as individual props.
Great thanks for the info! Sounds like 3 is the winner, because I do use Iray, and that is important to me.
You can also use Urban Sprawl 2 with Iray, but that will mean a bit more work.
Urban sprawl 3's blocks fit together nicely. Urban Sprawl 2 has NewZealand and British road setup.(Drive on left side)
Good to know! I bought 3 yesterday :) Still need to take it for a test spin
I can recommend driving around with the Lamborghini lookalike thats on sale ;)
Moved to Art Studio as it is a question about wexisting products, not a Product Suggestion.
I have both and Urban Sprawl 2 converts easily enough to iRay. I like Urban Sprawl 3 better though and unfortunately the scale and street layout doesn't quite allow for 100% alignment of Urban Spawl 2 & Urban Sprawl 3 if you use them in the same scene. You can make small adjustments and get them to work together though.
I just bought Urban Sprawl 3 yesterday. The five blocks in it all load at the 0-0-0 position. Any advice on positioning the blocks so that they align edge to edge?
@Stonemason
The required offset seems to be about 9557.50, left-right or back-forward, and the roads line up so just arrange them as suits you (or build your own blocks out of a road base and whatever buildings you fancy).
Try the Align tab, with the Stack option (on X and/or Z, zero spacing) with two or more base blocks selected. All the buildings will follow.
Which makes the offset 9558.180 cm (which is probably a nice round number in Poser units - possibly 40, allowing for imprecision in my conversion to Imperial units)
@NorthOf45 and @Richard Haseltine,
Thanks for both of your suggestions. I hadn’t thought of the Align tool.
Maybe @Stonemason will drop by as well.
Thanks for stopping by! I initially played with eyeballing the alignment as well before I posted my question. Between that, Richard’s values, and using the Align tool, I think I’ll be OK. Thanks for your body of 3D work. I just bought four more of them on Tuesday; I’ve got 46 now.
you can also use https://www.daz3d.com/instances-plus-for-daz-studio to create a big city
Thanks. If I don't like the way the other suggestions work out, I might be able to find sometime already in my library that can come in handy. Perhaps the Move Tool in the Code 66 Toolbox - Volume 1 (https://www.daz3d.com/code-66-toolbox--volume-1).
