Shader / Texture Help

September 2020 in Blender Discussion

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to learn the basics of shading in Cycles / Blenders, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I wanted to start simple, so I created a basic node to connect the texture to the final material output. But for some reason no matter what I do, the textures are completely blown out. Even if I remove the SSS, it still looks like this.

This is for Olympia 7's maps. Is there something wrong with the gamma or brighting or...something?

Any help would be appreciated!

The values you use in the principled shader have no sense. It's all zero there. Setting specular to 0.5 and roughness to 0.5 will give you a start.
