Any gallery allowing *tasteful* nudity?

Hi, all,

Just had an image pulled for breaching TOS (nudity), despite my best efforts to hide any possibly offending parts.  Fair enough, and my apologies.  But I don't want to spend up to 90 additional minutes render time (plus extra for clothing or tweaking poses) each time I may have an offending image, just to create a "DAZ version".

Does anyone know of an alternative gallery website that allows nudity, please?  By which I *don't* mean one that allows pornographic content, but rather which allows artistic nudity, even if it has to be moderated first.

Many thanks.

Ian

    Just try deviantart...

  • Tasteful nudity seems OK at Renderosity. Though they are less permissive than 10 years ago.

    Renderosity, Deviant Art, Pillowfort, Newgrounds.

Do you use Newgrounds?  I only ask, because I almost wonder if I am doing it wrong... I posted up nearly 100 pics over there and have received basically zero interaction from anybody there...  I just found it to be a bit dead and lifeless, but maybe it's just that I haven't given it enough of a chance.

I had no idea Newgrounds even still existed.

  • Surprised myself. I've been a member of Renderosity for 20 years & a few months now. It feels sort-of lifeless too. It almost feels as if there are loads of people regurgitating stuff that could have been done with Poser 4, and despite the amazing rendering capacity available now, much of it looks like it did 20 years ago; NVITWAS toned down a bit. It's somewhat dispiriting in some ways.

    Regards,

    Richard.

  • After 20 years, you've probably seen the same themes repeated often enough, everything would start to look the same... :-)

  • Renderosity is all but dead it seems, at least in regards to the forums. DeviantArt is the only place I can think of if you want to reach a larger viewing audience while being sure nudity in your rendered images won't be an issue. Pretty much everything & anything adult-themed ranging from "artsy" to "completely absurd" is allowed there.

Pffft...  Deviant Art has become very strange feeling as of late.  It's more than the site redesign, people just feel distant and there's not the interaction there was even 6 months ago.  I dunno, it's strange times all around, so maybe some of it could be chalked up to the fact that schools are closed and people are all forced to live in uncomfortable ways thanks to teh pandemic, but it's oddly silent nowadays.

Still, I think it's your best bet.  How sad is that?  LOL.

  • I find Renderosity better for feedback than DeviantArt, FWIW.  I wiped my stuff off at DA because all I got was spam, lately..

  • There are a number of people on Renderosity doing good work, just the proportion is not as high as I'd hope. Do a search for 'Vadrus'. He does nudes almost exclusively, and none have ever seemed prurient to me, always tasteful. Just wish he'd develop his style, he seems to have found a comfortable niche and is sticking firmly within it. Oh.. it's all too easy to pontificate, much harder to do and I'm as guilty as any of not developing as a producer of images (will never claim to be an artist - have so few moments of inspiration).

    Regards

    Richard.

  • Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions and comments.  I'll look at the suggested sites.  Have to get more inspiration (and content!) for what to post here too.

    :)

DeviantArt is a cesspool. Maybe I'm just becoming a prude, but there's a lot of stuff on there now that seems to take the "deviant" part of the name on face value. It's less "There are no rules in art," and more "A couple of decades ago I would have been committed for this." cheeky

  • renderosity feedbacks seems to be by the same person probably some paid person, @ deviantart well is a dead town same goes with pixiv I only get likes in Pixiv but never feedbacks.  Everyone seems to be at Amino app which is a mobile art community you get feedbacks there for artwork, but I dont think nudity is accepted there check their terms.  I wouldnt recommend renderotica because the moderator there is an A.

Oh, to be honest I just made a profile not long ago and haven't really interacted with it yet. Same with Pillowfort. I did some research on what the popular platforms of this kind are post tumblr and those two came up. I didn't really mean it as a endorsement.

I like the Renderosity gallery fine, I get about as much response there as here at DAZ3d, or more. Only the forums are dead.

Probably more than two decades ago I said things like that would crop up and become more common(and some accepted as "normal"); especially when provided with a medium where anonymity is near absolute. Naturally, I was accused of using a "slippery slope argument" that had no basis.

There's less activity simply because social media and its user behavior destroyed art galleries. People want to "like" instead of comment, because social media made people feel like walking on eggshells. One wrong comment and the artist's followers attack you, so it's best not to tell them anything, except for generic praise. (At least that's how it is for drawings. And not counting those unfair and biased algorithms.)

But DS artists, in general, have always been rather tight-lipped, so add that to the mix and it worsens the loneliness. That's one reason that everywhere feels the same.

I post my renders both here and on DeviantArt, and a lot of times I'll do different versions of the render for each place I post it. What that means in practice is adding clothing to the Daz version. Just now I posted this to the Daz gallery:

    Aerials

That's already perhaps pushing the boundaries of the Daz TOS because of all the blood, but in the DA version they're also naked.

I forgot to say that the fascinating thing about posting in multiple places is how different the reactions can be. I do a lot of centaur and mermaid renders, and DeviantArt goes nuts for those, while Daz doesn't care. Conversely, my most-liked Daz Gallery uploads barely even register on DA.

Deviant Art is the place for Centaur enthusiasts! I noticed that too, so funny.

Case in point, I picked up a new follower yesterday. I looked through his favourites, and it's almost exclusively naked centauresses and other half-women. I say "almost exclusively" because a few of them weren't naked.

you can post and even sell any nudes you like at renderotica tasteful or not.  Just saying if your into posting that kind of stuff. they would be your best option.

I'm pretty sure Renderotica is specifically what the OP is NOT looking for.

that maybe true . but you can most definitely post nude there without restrictions.

Absolutely right. I have 748 watchers on deviantart mostly because of my centaur pics!

  • deviantart is probably where I do best at, the two most common themes I get asked for are Giantess verses different creatures/things and  Coppertone style that's where someone has their clothes usually underwear/bathers pulled by another character. The other stuff has done well too
