Yet Another Daz Studio to Blender exporter

Into this increasingly crowded space comes 'Rig GNS v1.0'.  Note that I am not recommending or endorsing this, or the reverse, and have nothing to do with it but thought it might interest some here.

You can watch a video here - https://youtu.be/-LPBZ2mWOPw.  Interesting in that this is a Blender addon only - no Daz Studio component, just export from DS as FBX.  The Blender addon then imports the FBX and creates a Rigify-based rig.  There is a free version which is limited to G3 figures, and a paid version for $10 min via Gumroad.  (Of course, as a Blender addon, the unobfuscated source code should be made available whether paid or free.)  It's not clear to me which Genesis figures the paid version will support but the video shows using G8F.

The video also shows importing a Mixamo template to the figure in Blender, which may open up some intriguing possibilites for Mixamo users.

I may try the free version if I have an idle moment.

The more competition the better. It would not surprise me if soon down the load a Blender add-on will just read the Studio scene natively without exporting anything first.

To be fair that's not an exporter, it's just a fbx rigger. Will have all the limits of fbx exports .. for example try geografts and/or shells. Not to talk about materials.

@brainmuffin Recreating the daz scene from the duf file alone is not possible because of the daz proprietary addons that are not open source. That's why you have to export basic data from the daz scene first.

It's why the maya plugin we saw a thread about used a similar method; I don't recall if it was json also, or if xml - could have been xml.
