The Poser and Daz Free Resources Wiki is having our annual Render Party throughout the month of July!

This year, the theme is "Get out and play virtually" - show off the free scenes, the free sports and games props, the free camping gear, the free sports cars, the free summer outfits, and anything else that gets the characters in your runtime out of the house and into the sun! You don't need to follow the theme, but you do need to feature free items in your renders.
As always, we'll be putting the names of everybody who takes part into a random draw, and give gift cards or gift certificates to a few lucky people. We'll draw at least two names, maybe more - the lucky participants will get to choose which online 3D-resource store they get a GC for. For legal reasons, this is not a contest.
The Render Party starts on July 1, and ends on July 31. Have fun playing!

Hello everybody. It's that time of year again! We had an amazing turnout last year and dropped our page tally below 8700 pages! Since the last party we have been busy adding more freebies. Saying good-bye to some sites. Updating broken links, making images and creating pages. Oh and we have galleries to some of the figures and their associated products.

Overall we have been busy. I made some changes to some of the major figures Landing Pages. I added a list of Wardrobe pages without images to the bottom of the page. If you click on one of the below links it will take you to that list and you can pick what ever freebie you want to render. This is not to say you can't do something else like hair, or vechile it is just a way for those not sure of how to navigate the wiki to getting something done and knowing that you helped.

The galleries are a great idea and look really good -it looks like it's a LOT easier to find stuff that way! I hope we see more of those! :)

Wow, something major must be going on with the wiki. I'm not able to access it and keep getting "503 Backend fetch failed" errors.
...seen this in previous years but still not totally up on the basic requirements. Are the freebies to be used form a specific list, of any freebie that works with the theme?

It says "You don't have to follow the theme, but you do have to feature a freebie." So I think just any freebie that doesn't already have an image.

We are not picky about what freebie you use in your render except that we wish it to be (Don't you love it when we come up with exceptions?):
1. The feature of the image. This link https://poserdazfreebies.miraheze.org/wiki/User:Dollygirl/sandbox shows you what was done for last year's images. You can do simple or you can add backgrounds or what ever.
2. There is no set size as you can see from the information about each image on the linked page. There is a limit on size to upload but it is for really big files. I find that 500 x 647 works well for me. That size makes great thumbs for the Smart Content catalog as well so I get some benifit from the image.
3. We would perfer that a freebie that has it's own page be the one you pick but we can use any image as long as it is yours and you agree to the copyright conditions of the wiki. We are trying to knock down the number of our needed image pages. There being 8600 of them.
Item 3 is why I give you links to the wardrobe pages which need images but there are other categories and if you need help finding a page just ask and I will see if I can find the item or give you acess to a list of related freebies that you might find interesting. Not everybody digs clothing or summer things.
Is there a tutorial on adding images to the Wiki product pages? I added several new images last year, but it's been a year and I can't remember how to do it. I think I found one last year (which is the only way I figured out how to do it), but don't know where to find the tutorial that I used last year. I've rendered out some images but can't remember how to add them.
Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out. I had to find the Edit Tab on the product page to find the place to add the image's file name. :)

But I couldn't figure out how to add it to that page, as there is a lot more text and formatting for those types of pages it looks like. I didn't want to try (and maybe accidentally mess up the page). Could one of the longer time wiki mods maybe add it? Done Diva, if you do have trouble, like you had with this one because we don't have a page for the product yet and you are worried that your image will be lost you can check here: https://poserdazfreebies.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:NewFiles to see if it made it to the list and then post something in this thread to get us to add it to a general list page. There are no tuts for doing that. We just wing it. In the case of your image I ended up putting it in two places on the page. One is in the gallery at the bottom of the page and then I added it in amongst the list cause it was pretty.

I bookmarked the New Files link. That's really helpful - I was worried I wouldn't be able to find it later. lol
...I generally redner at 900 x 1,200 (either landscape or portrait orientation)
...so this is like making a promo for a freebie then.

In case you would like to add another picture to a listing page, here is the code
[[File:whatever.png|thumb|right|middle|185px|Whatever]]
Change the "whatever.png" to the name of the picture file and the last "Whatever" to a description.

We have gone quiet. How is every one. Working on images I hope. I do images because I am trying to create my Smart Content library and I like to look at the pretty pictures. I am also drawn to the older models. don't know why but I am. Gotta go where the mojo goes. Below is an early AprilYSH freebie when Stephanie 1 was the latest new model at DAZ. AprilYSH's product remapped Stephanie so that she could be textured using Victoria 2 textures. AprilYSH did not include Stephanie's morphs in the cr2 she created and there used to be a morph loader that you could use to put the morphs back into the cr2 if you owned Stephanie. After many years and me wanting a pretty picture for my library, I tried to find that morph loader. No joy it has vanished so I said to myself if the computer can do it I can too. It took me several days but I now have a full fledged Stephanie with the new UVs and all of her morphs. I present to you.
So this is Stephanie with a 3Dream full body morph and Victoria 2 skin rendered in iray. I think she is very pretty.

I used it on Aiko 3 LE and copied Hiro's morphs when I couldn't affort the Morphs and Maps for A3 and got Hiro 3 for free. Hiro 3 includes the morphs A3 doesn't ... Which is why I have a A3Hiromorphs.cr2 in my library. LOL
Thank you very much Kerya. I did a little bit of work on the wiki to add the Morph Manager link to the AprilYSH's Stephanie page and I created a page and updated the link for the Morph Manager. Looking forward to playing with the software. We're nearly halfway through the Image Creation Party, it looks like. If any of you guys have enjoyed the freebies found at the PoserDAZ Wiki, please contribute to the render party and help the users of the site to more easily find the freebies that interest them. The renders don't have to be complex or complicated scenes - Just simple scenes that show off the freebie is all that's needed. :)
So I was hunting old freebies and found a texture for the Vicky2P4 actor that comes with the Victoria 2 package. So this actor is Victoria 2 with the shape of Poser 4 Female body. Kind of the beginings of a clone. Not bad for beinging 17 years old. Rendered in iray. A homage to the classic complaint that all Vicky ever got was skimpwear so she was forced to go fight at the temple.
Wow. This site is very useful, I found a large number of freebies in mere minutes. I joined the site and added 2 images, hopefully they're not too risque lol. I'm unsure of how to add them to the entries list on the event page though. If someone could help that'd be great.

LedLeech, thank you for helping us. Glad that the site worked for you. Your images are perfect. The wiki has the same TOS as DAZ does. I have added your images to the list. But not to worry if they don't make it to the list. The wiki keeps track of all the uploaded images and we have a way to pull those images uploaded for the month of July that will be included in the giveaway. Thanks again.
