Daz is working on setting up the 20% discount for people who purchased holiday new releases on Sunday. Sorry that it wasn't there from the outset.

Well I didn't get the banner for the extra 20% discount for buying two new releases the other day, but then again I bought two of the previous day's items the second day of that deal, but then again they were still on the same page in the same group as the THREE new items for that day and I was told that it would still work... but then AGAIN, the new pro bundle I would have got the discount on doesn't interest me so... disappointed, but what you gonna do?

    1. Raise the issue.

    2. Wait for a better sale; option two is always to our advantage.

Well I would if there was any point to it, I mean the discount I qualified for and didn't get is usable for only this pro bundle, but even if I raised the issue as you put it, it would be pointless since I do not plan to buy this pro bundle because I won't use any of it but maybe the characters, and they won't let me save it for a different bundle that I WOULD use so no real point. If it had been a female along the lines of Scar, I would have been all over it since that was what I was expecting would be next, even though I forgot that the pirate bundles were split up with another character bundle between them... Just makes me leery about sales and releases around here, and I will probably not go for stuff I might not use anymore, even if there IS a bonus discount that will be applied to something released later sight unseen. Learned my damned lesson.

Love the character, especially how short she is (for a Daz woman). This is also one of the rare times I'm buying an add-on character with a pro bundle, because there's no way I'm passing up on Lanuola. Most PAs don't really get Asian eyes right, to me, but Kayo and Lanuola nail it. Also, a pet peeve: some PAs put their female figures in heavy makeup for every single promo, so it's a little hard to get a read on what their faces actually look like.

I like her name, good job on that.  :)

Haha, I honestly missed the pun. I instinctively pronounced her name "kah-yo", because that's how it would be pronounced in virtually any language other than English.

Sidenote - absolutely against putting animations into a pro bundle. Not everybody does animations. Waste of a pro bundle slot...wouldn't even install it.

I generally consider pose packs wasted bundle slots, and almost never install them, and yet there are still two or three of those in every bundle.

  • benniewoodellbenniewoodell Posts: 2,000
An animation can always be used as a sequence of poses, just scrub through the Timeline to find the one you want (assuming the basic subject matter is of interset, of course).

I would LOVE to see more animation sets in pro bundles because that really is the best of both worlds for folks like myself that animate, and like you mention, it gives the still folks a chance to scrub through and find just the right frame for their image.

Okay, I have to ask... I thought that if I bought two new items on both Saturday and Sunday there would be a -20% x2...

When I did purchase today, I just got one of those and figured the sale meant over the weekend instead of the individual days.

    Was my original assumption correct?

Which day was the two items day? I thought I had bought two items then, but perhaps I didn't

I think it was July 5? The page definitely was still saying 20% off next bundle when I made the purchase because someone else had mentioned it, so I checked before making a qualifying purchase.

If anyone wants to correct me on that, IDC. I definitely don't have the 2nd discount, so of course I could be wrong, but I sincerely doubt it.
I don't know that I'm likely to buy the Pro Buindle either way. At this point, I don't feel like making the (minimal) effort to open a ticket.

That offer was active on both Saturday and Sunday.

No, there's only one 20% discount. That was an offer valid over the week-end, not two separate offers you could combine.

Thanks, I'll wait on the official word. But the wording of the offer said "Buy 2 New Items Today and Receive 20% off the Next Pro Bundle"

I don't believe that it specified the weekend or even that it was a once only offer.

Either way is fine to me, to be honest.

I'd like animations NOT included in the pro bundle. never use them. Nor do I use dforce  or strand hair. It doesn't work well in 4.11

I doubt this will change, but my days of buying pro is nearing an end I fear. But good fro those who like those items.

  • memcneil70memcneil70 Posts: 5,459

The first day of that offer was 4 July, but it showed up again on 5 July and the items I didn't purchase on 4 July, were mixed right in with the 'New' items on 5 July. I wasn't sure if you had to buy on both days or if the 4th was good or not. So I bought two on both days. There were things I could use on each, but without that offer I might not have spent money.

Oooohhhh... I really like her! She's really, really beautiful!

I never liked Mei Lin 8 much... perhaps the blandest East Asian female character in the entire store. Kayo has a much stronger look in my opinion.

And it's so nice to see realistic East Asian female faces. I have no problem at all with the various anime inspired ladies - in fact I quite like those, too - but it's always nice to see both.

I'm not really inspired by any of the add-on characters, though.

Now, do we get a butch, burly, rough-and-tumble East Asian male counterpart? Please? :)

I like her name, good job on that.  :)

OMG! I usually catch things like that straight away, but in this case, I was leaning towards "Kigh-Oh" but now I see it for what it is, K.O. or just say it - Knock Out!  If her first name was Tia, well that would have just been a Total Knock Out. HA HA!

i don't mind what the next g8 is, but can we try to give her a different nose from the last 10 or so?

the faces are all very same-y. looks like only the skins have been changed in some cases. not meaning to sound negative, but at this stage even a muppet nose would be a welcome relief.

a character isn't just its addons, to me. it's the entire package.

Did somebody say "Muppet Nose"? <LOL>

Here are a couple of my fun renders ;-)
Emrys and I teamed up for her!

Lanuola and Kanako are the only two characters I picked up today from the big promotion.  Today there was no additional discount for purchasing two new items, but whatever.  Kayo is Okay (backwards), but didn't fill any needs.  She can wait.  Togatta hair is also nice with the whorl in the back.

Lanuola's skin is nice, and that motivated the purchase, but she's compensating for Kayo's small bust and if you don't have Kayo, you end up with some pretty massive breasts.  That's shown in the promos, though, so it's not a surprise.

Kanako is also a nice character on her own.  Here I dialed out implants by 50 percent (25 both and Left and Right each another 25) with her own skin and with Lanuola's.

Congratulations to DAZ for finding inspiration and courage to work outside Fantasy for a mayor release bundle! I know it was a hard thing to do, and maybe have a couple employees in terapy because they feel lost; tell them to hang in there its only for a week. It's a joke, don't take it wrong smiley

Now, outside jokes: can we please go back to better release offers? I'm not asking for the amazing numbers of some releases last month sale. But the benefits of this one are rubish.

First, full benefits requires requires 4 addons. i thought 3 was a better number. 4 is too high for me, there is little useful thigs to choose. Textures, well, these outfits are very niche and while pieces can be reused elsewere, some texture are too specific so they don't add much. Characters, yeah nice an all that but unless there is something really unique on them, they don't add much. HD-Addon, expensive and probably cannot even handle it. The ring was a nice thing there.

Now the worst part. $15 each selection. First poor explaining and the errors reported. Then the biggest issue, at those prices is impossible to use. Barely 1 item in each, some not even that, some i don't even care at all. Most of those can usually be found for $5 to $2. So the value of each $15 is a lot less.

The 70%. Just inviting to spend more, but without extra discounts i find no benefit in this. For PA items waiting patiently you can get the same (or even better) without needing to buy anything extra. And for DO, is certainlly lower than the 80% on G8 pro bundles we had not that long ago with this releases. And that was good when paired with additional discounts in DO.

The worst: Gift card discount. Just pure greed to add this in the pro bundle sale instead outside one or two days earlier. Last week at least you give the chance of getting that before scar 8 release. But adding a GC to cart makes it impossible to buy with your credit, so as credit for regular customers is usually already at 20% is a discount lost.

So, this is a very interesting bundle with decent outfits (one less fight outfit and an sparring/sport one would have been better), nice hairs, animations (yes). But the offer is bad. To justify spending arround $60 the extras is what sells it to me, and this just don't add much. Unless real badass discounts (like 50% extra on DO, and featured artists) stacks with this later this week, it will be another pass.

Out of my "price range" for me (thanks for the banner though). Hopefully, I'll be able to get her at some point in the future (like I did with Kala and Sanjay 8). Hopefully, I'll have a better graphics card by then, and will be able to use the animations that come with her.

  • Okay, 2nd banner is up for me now. ("Pro" buyer purple banner plus 2 item purchase banner.)
Price goes down to US$29 for the 2x banner plus 4x add-ons.

    Still thinking about it.

  • The wrasslin Ring is probably the one "must-have" in the Add-ons.

It even comes with steel chairs.
Maybe you can put a big head-shaped dent in one of the seats... ("OH MAH GAWD!!!!!")

    What a slobberknocker!!!!!

I didn't think of this but you're right, I wonder if you could bring the chair into Blender and add like soft body physics to it, do the motion and get a dent in it from someone's head...when I snag this bundle and the ring, I'll have to give it a try.

Ok, I got something REALLY weird (and cleared the cart and tried again just to make sure - with same results):

I am a PC+ member, and had both purple banners (supposedly 20% off each) - and I put the Pro Bundle in my cart and the price RAISES from $66 to $94!! O.o   then it starts the discounts - did the math twice. and the total discounts (for both banners, membership and addons) only adds up if the price is $94 instead of $66 (and change of course).

... considering I really do NOT like/enjoy wrestling, this one is a definite 'pass' for me; I like the character (and some of the associated characters), but most of the bundle and add-ons are pointless for my use.  *might* would have bought if it were low enough and had a few more things I could use.  Naaa - still probably not; got a few things in my wishlist I would bite on first.

I kinda think this is the problem with getting TOO narrow on the bundle offerings when you are talking genres - unless the customer just happens to be part of that niche, the bundle isn't worth it for them.  Even historical bundles aren't this narrow - they can be history, fantasy, or even sci-fi depending on usage.  Wrestling... pretty much is only wrestling even if you use Oso or RawArt non-human characters! ;)

Even within wrestling & for fans, the bundle is hyper focused on a specific style and look with the leotards.

I mean, I'm not a HUGE fan of wrestling, and even I know that there's a VERY specific look here. That's the really confused part of this bundle for me, who actually wanted a more athletic figure with an athletic theme. It's VERY focused on a glam-leotard style within a sub-genre of athletic entertainment, which isn't useful for events in the same family of combat sports (like MMA). It's pretty much a WRASSLIN-only bundle, and only a very specific genre of wrasslin. Like, 80's hair band, Hulk Hogan, WWF-era wrasslin.

(If you look at what WWE "Divas" wear today, it's not just that look and style of leotard-ish outfit. That more general Diva look would have been FAR more useful to more people. So, the one different style outfit, from CynderBlue, is not suprisingly in the Pro Bundle only.)
(And I gotta buy the 2nd set of wrasslin poses as an add-on?! Well, that's one way to get us to 4 add-ons.)

I really did want an athletic female figure bundle.
So this one is kind of almost what I wanted, except being totally not what I wanted in a bundle LOL.

Well that's nice...bought two things I could have waited on just to get the banner...for a bundle I couldn't be less interested in. Character is fine and well-made...facially she's one of the more realistic characters I've seen in terms of eyes, etc...but oy, wrestling? *sigh* Only thing I want is Redz new hair.

I did get two banners...have no idea if they stack. Testing for folks in the thread...bundle by itself comes up $42.32 (including the fact that I'm PC+). Bundle plus four cheapest add-ons comes to $53.33 ($29.62 for the bundle itself).

That assumes we know how to use the timeline. It's another thing we have to learn just to use poses..?

IMO, that is totally backwards. They ought to have given us a wider style of athletics/combat sport clothing so that CB's outfit wasn't locked behind the Pro Bundle. I mean, just look at what WWE Divas wear today, and pick something. Anything.

There's really not much to learn. There's a cursor on the timeline with a yellow triangle, just click and hold that and drag it left and right once you load the animation in, which if it's like any other animation sets, you just have to double click on the one you want to use in the content panel.

Are they still called Divas? I thought that term was retired...  Admittedly I haven't watched it in years.

As for the clothes, if the leotards aren't wanted, wouldn't there be a wide variety of modern clothes that could be used? With a little bit of texture work any of the bathing suits / lingere could work (if even more stylized attire is wanted). If going in the other direction, there are plenty of t-shirts and such that would work...  Heck, even the fantasy related clothes would work for some themed wrestlers.

Personally, I was just happy to see the Ric Flair styled cape / cloak. All that is missing is some "woo!" poses.
