Harpwood Trail Issue - SOLVED

FantastArtFantastArt Posts: 380

Hello,

I just installed the Harpwood Trail https://www.daz3d.com/the-harpwood-trail-for-daz-studio and have a problem with rendering.

When I load the scene and use the light preset and the render preset, my render is black.

I tried differend cameras but it's still black. I also tried different settings.

I only get a render, when I start a new scene,load the product and start with a seperate lighning, from another product ( I used the setting from the Bend of the River for example)

    @FantastArt

    Harpwood Trail has both 3DL and Iray lighting. Are your lighting lighting choice and render engine matched?

    This happens to me in general when I have "Scene Only" with no lights.  Can you change to "Dome and Scene" in the Render Settings?

    I've used Harpwood Trail with no issues. I'm guessing you have mismatched the lights. Try the iRay render preset

    I get this problem if I do not set the optimization in the rendering section to "memory". Sometimes the objects do not load right or at all otherwise and that can lead to a blank screen.

    Make sure you use the camera option to optimize scene objects too. Ultra scenery needs a lot of headroom to run, even with 11gb of video memory, populating a whole landscape is taxing on my system.

    I will load a landscape with only a few items to get my camera angle then repopulate the scene using the camera optimization trick once I figure out where I want my camera.

    Don't load the Harpwood trail Daylight 01 High Qual preset. That is for 3Delight. It will ad a Sky Dome object to your scene which will completely block all light from the Iray environment. Instead, load the Harpwood Trail Sunlight Iray render settings preset.

    Thank you for that! It really was that simple. Sometimes I'm so so stupid wink

    I had the same problem with the Dry Mud Desert set. Sometimes things aren't packaged very intuitively.

    No, the stupid thing is having 3Delight-only (or Iray-only) presets that aren't clearly labelled as such. It's not "stupid" not to be psychic.
