Updated: yes I can share, no problems :-)

................

I wanted to share of this even as an idea though because I discovered that after making the clothing piece for G2M, to convert it also for G2F was SOOOOO easy man.

And so the one became 2 ;-)
His and Her Sport Shirts.

To create a His/Her item:
After making a clothing piece for G2M, load said clothing piece and "fit to" G2F. The autofit selection box appears, make choices and save results :-)

n.b. textures are not necessarily those which would be shared.

Okay, yes I can share. Had a slightly different workflow this time 'cause sometimes dear Hexie just can't get the uvmaps "passable". Still used it though for some rearranging etc.

So, have some morphs to attempt ... I do not own the lot of morphs for G2M, RL on a budget.

And of course the textures to create and package.

Might take you up that, thanks. Will send you a PM.

I did give up in Hexagon. Pinning didn't really help, it just wouldn't get the sleeves part right at all. So rather than pull hair out, I dug out 3D Coat and emailed the company a question to which I received a nice answer. Yes :-) I can use 3D Coat in my workflow for the uvmaps and so I did.
I had some fun. Translation is that the uvmap still presents a challenge for texturing however I was experimenting. 3D Coat is GREAT for uvmapping. Few clicks and done, like wow! I have one set of Shading Domains which remain the same as the images displayed above but the uvmap is totally different. I wanted stripes too. hehehe .... okay so I figure this one better go out with a .psd file so nobody lynches me lol.

And because the uvmap is what I call "all cut up", my usual method of applying textures 'as is' doesn't work well. So have spent time combing through my collection for some textures that would work with this. For those making textures, tiling can be mandatory and always check the back too.

Have made a collection ST colours ;-) My intention is to also make these into shaders for "any" model however since one has to first make a mat file, this was the lucky shirt.

This should be a little easier to deal with.. if you apply a tiling texture/shader it will line up on the side seams. =)

Thank you so very much :-)

And the even better news for those interested, is now it can also be used for commercial image renders as well.

Hey Em, what type of UV mapping is that you used? That's damned flawless. Everything tiles so perfectly! Really would love to know!

Nice stuff happening there Wendy! :-)

UV Layout is the best program I've found to get my UV maps.

    Looking good Patience.

If that's the program I'm thinking of, we did not get along.

Anyway ... we now have new shirts, Sports Shirts His 'n Hers - hoping to release them later this week.
They are made, just working on some mat files. Slightly new selection but this is working :-)
Here's one promo for the shirts:

If that's the program I'm thinking of, we did not get along

It definitely has a learning curve 'cause its highly based on hotkeys and middle mouse button. I actually added middle mouse button to one of my thumb buttons 'cause I have trouble holding down the scroll wheel. Littlefox has a tutorial over at rdna that would be quite helpful if you ever want to try getting the hang of it. I do know you could have gotten a flat UV map with 4 pieces in about 10 button presses using it. Getting it that perfect took me a couple hours and I redid it twice 'cause I wanted it to line up perfectly if you applied stripes, but it still would have be perfectly usable.. add 2 to 4 more button presses and it would be better than 50% of the commercial products on the market.

(symmetry find button / left click / spacebar / shift-c times 3 / uv view / shift-f times 4 / (extra credit: spacebar-right mouse button to rotate arm straight / s button to mirror other arm) / Pack button)
Okay so 12 or 14.. I was close

lol ... yes that sounds like it.

Yes sadly there are quite a few maps in the market that could have either been done better OR "updated" as advancements were made.
Still, IMHO, nothing beats that texture for a set which is using demo shots of unpurchased software!

The time spent to match for stripes was well spent!

Wanted to use the Runway [you know, to justify having bought it lol ...] but oh wow! The lights ... over 2 hours just for the runway. So I zapped the lights and re-coloured it abit ... still more I want to do with it trying for a little more Scifi looking ... but for everybody's amusement, here are some more promos. I made shaders and mat files today. Have a few more to make or fix and of course the packing to do ...

I rendered most of tonight's set a little larger than I usually do so some of the cloth texture effects can be seen [if one clicks to get the larger image].

Oh what the hay ... here's a good one for "why one should check which camera is rendering" before hitting that button ;-)

I've started uploading to my DA Gallery the Sports Shirts.

One doesn't need to download the 'no textures' zip if downloading part one of three.
At time of this posting, still waiting for the third zip to finish uploading.

Splitting the huge file into 3 parts was done last minute as apparently there's a 200mb limit per at DA.
[which means I hope I didn't miss any textures!]

The NASA images are NOT included. Lots of those available for free on their websites.

As apparently the wall on the stage is not uvmapped [and that curved part of the wall is stretchy useless], I had to make some wall pieces to polish my scene. I thought everything sold here was uvmapped, silly me.

    Anyhow ... enjoy.

Thank you Joequick for making starter suits.
Thank you Fisty for fixing the uvmap.
