What is DAZCentral?
in The Commons
At the risk of sounding totally uninformed, may I ask: Is "DAZCentral" a replacement for DAZ Install Manager (DIM)?
And if so, should I wait for DAZCentral to come out of beta before trying to use it as a replacement for DIM?
I almost never use DAZ Connect unless I have an issue with DIM. And I have only had one or two issues with DIM once in 18 months.
So I am quite happy with DIM. And I'm a bit confused as to what DAZCentral is exactly, or if it replaces one of the other installation methods.
Please help. :)

Thanks, but I read all through that forum and I'm still confused.
There is a lot of discussion on technical issues which is all very confusing to me. I just wanted to know what its purpose is.
It's designed for new users and doesn't have as many options as DIM. It's not replacing DIM.
Thanks.
It's a new install system, with a new UI and based on DIM core for the install part. It doesn't have all the advanced features DIM has. it's mainly aimed at new users or users with a simple setup.
If you're happy with DIM you can continue using it, it will continue to be available for more advanced users.
Thanks Leana. I hope it helps new users.
DIM has advanced features? I only use it to download/install my DAZ stuff.
