I'm not saying they don't its just that rendo don't just sell 3D content.
Yes, but the picture used the clothes with their original textures, not a Rendo add-on. They probably just picked a cool image posted in their galleries without thinking further.
False. Rendo now owns Poser, and has its own line of figures. So they're exactly the same kind of businesses.
And how would that make it different anyway? Both are advertising their products by showcasing products which are not theirs. If they had put G8F in an outfit sold at Rendo or used a texture add-on sold there I wouldn't have thought anything of it, but they didn't.
The question is, can you create the image from the banner in DAZ? Same look, morphs and render quality. That is what I wonder.
I still disagree. Owning it is not the same as creating and developing it. I have yet to see a post over there talking about rendo releasing a new version of poser that they developed and the lefemme figures are commuity/PA based, not created by rendo from what I see. 80% of the promos at rendo have DAZ content or products for DAZ content in them, without it, they would have very little to sell unlike here.
Here is the analogy that comes to mind for me, DAZ is Levi Strauss who creates the jeans and has outlet stores and rendo and the other content stores are the stores that sell levi jeans among other items
Maybe I am giving DAZ too much credability. To me DAZ "IS" Daz Studio and I expect most everything that is released in the marketplace as primarily being content for Daz Studio. I don't look at the DAZ marketplace as a content for other apps or games store, even though most of it will work that way. Maybe when the main page has a graphic with the UI of Maya, Blender or Iclone popup when you open it I'll change my mind. For the record, I also use 3DSMax, blender, iclone, unity and unreal and I use daz content in them.
using things is bad guys.
Good eye, just you wait.
So, there! I hope it's regular people soon and not Daz soon.
Renderosity recently released their updated Poser Pro 11.3 (which is a product of their own in-house development) with upcoming releases pending. And Renderosity's product manager, Jen, (who also oversees Poser development) oversaw the creation and development of LaFemme; so this is their baby too. If you posit that, "Yeah, but Renderosity did not CREATE Poser," I would counter that the present owners of Daz did not create Daz Studio either. They bought it (or bought out its creators) and continued development.
I think this answer is not an excuse for using not even the DAZ male or even DAZ clothes. :(
I don't know what that means, but it sounds promising? :)
Hey Jens. Perhaps the tease of "Just you wait" means we are getting a big buff, tatted DUDE from this artist, DAZ SOON!
My guess (or wish) is that they hired that guy to ZBrush some guys for them - it maybe will end in new females anyway. But beside this, and that plain ugly Facebook header, using a not DAZ male with not DAZ clothing and not DAZ rendered, IMO that's simply wrong. I use architecture from Kitbash3D for my FB header, but at least I have rendered that in DAZ Studio Iray.
It looks like Thierry Mugler with a full beard and different tattoos...
Maybe there's going to be same haute couture???
Well, looks like it really WAS a sneak peek of Underbelly..and we got em! Great character.
So looking at the artists pages now, the character seems to have a name, which I do not remember him having before. Though I may just be misremembering.
What puzzles me a bit is that I'm guessing that Daz bought Underbelly, transferred him to Genesis 8 and rigged him ... but I wonder why the artist wasn't named anywhere on the product page or readme? It's not usual for Daz Originals of this type to cite no other artists, and, well, we know who the main artist is.
IIRC for Daz Originals the creator chooses whether or not they want their name to appear.
The artist said in his Art Station that he had no interest in doing anything with the character because realism wasn't really his cup of tea. So, Daz must've swooped in, bought the character and all pursuant rights, transferred him to Genesis 8, and rigged the clothes.
And I'm very glad they did, even if I can't afford him right now
Same. I had planned Josephene 8's pro bundle being my next big purchase, but this guy's my top priority now. Hopefully will be able to snag soon.

The arm tattoos don't seem to be an option to add. Are they actually baked into the base materials? If so, that dropped my interest in him entirely.
Yeah, and it's not just that, I was seriously considering it, had a good look at the promo images and took it out after I spied the excessive arm hair, which looks more like fur.
The arm hair is optional, the tattoos not.
Can we merge these two threads together because people are seriously talking about the same thing in two different threads.
The arm tattoos are part of the base texture, and they aren't finished. There are seams and lines that end abruptly because the tattoos were not designed to be seen without the one specific rolle-sleeve shirt. Unacceptable.
I think the tattoo seams are caused by the conversion process, I can only assume but originally this character was not made for G8M and DAZ Studio and conversion between different UV layouts are always a bit risky. The main work for this character is in the very detailed normal maps, I havn't seen anything similar in any DAZ character. I bet that the character looks also incredible with Dain 8 skin and the native normals. The quality of the skin textures is IMO only mediocre due to the conversion.
The problem is for that price, the textures should be pristine...it's not worth it buying a character where you have to go into it expecting to use another character's textures.
If the character is only designed for the specific outfit in the bundle due to those tattoos, then that outfit should be included with the character for free. Especially given how expensive this apparently core character is.
I've seen plenty of folk with unfinished tatoos buit typically not a straight line.. They are expensive.
Yes, it'd be different if it appeared as if he were just on his way to full-sleeves. But in this case there are visible seams and chunks missing.
