@LeatherGryphon ,you are the one person that I think might know this but I've been trying to figure out what is the music playing when the Red Skull is having his portrait painted in Captain America:The First Avenger ..... do you by any chance know?

I just scanned through "Captain America: The First Avenger" and could not find any scene with Red Skull getting a portrait.  Are you sure that's the right movie?  I found it on Amazon PrimeVideo and have a susbscription so it's free for me.  If it's another movie in the series I may have to rent it.  Can you point to the approximate time into the movie so I don't have to watch or scan the whole thing?

The driver for my dual band wifi adapter crashed.  I need to use my old 2.4 GHz adapter now.  I like 5 GHz though.  Time to go shopping for a new adapter that has 5 GHz capability.

There were mammals in the time of the dinosaurs, but not primates.

Little splayed legged rat-like furry critters that ran between the toes of the dinosaurs.  They lived in holes in the ground.  That's why they survived what wiped out the dinosaurs.  Avoided the blast  & fires, didn't eat much.  Probably feasted on roast and rotten dinosaurs for months/years afterward.

Interesting trick the brain plays on word sounds.  Many years ago back in the dark ages when actual record shops still existed I went looking for a classical piece that I sort of knew the title of but not exactly.  The salesman in the shop (Yes, the big record shop in the DuPont Circle area of downtown Washington, DC had an actual attendant in a suit  & tie for the special room where the classical LPs and new fangled CDs were sold and listened to.) saw me browsing and asked if he could help me find something.  I replied, "Yes, I'm looking for that piece that is used in the "Conan The Barbarian Movie".  He had no idea about the Conan movie and looked a little aloof and I think was about to assume I was a ruffian and wasn't serious and drop me for another customer.  Then I said "I don't know the title exactly but the title sounds like, or has the cadence of the words "Anna Karenina".  Which I pronounced very carefully with proper emphasis on the alternating syllables.  The changing look on his face over the next few moments was priceless as he tried to figure out how the title of a hundred year old Tolstoy novel about aristocratic Russian infidelity could have anything to do with a barbarian movie soundtrack, then the meanings of my words hit him, his face lit up and he asked, do you mean "Carmina Burana"?  That he pronounced with the same sing-song cadence.  Which was indeed the music that I was after.  Once he'd realized that despite my complete leather outfit and mohawk haircut and motorcycle helmet in hand, I had a brain and it was actually OK to talk to me.smiley  We got along great for several more minutes as I found my CD and with his help a couple other classical selections.

Carl Orff: "O Fortuna" from "Carmina Burana" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdIpoE2LEps

The first time I heard "O Fortuna" in a movie was in "Excalibur (1981)". Oddly... I don't remember "O Fortuna" being used in "Conan The Barbarian (1982). Not saying it wasn't in the movie. I just don't remember it. The first time I was exposed to "Camina Burana" was as a child listening to a vinyl recording of the work in my father's record collection. Still one of my favorate pieces of music. I think you would enjoy my father's record collection. smiley

I suppose it is one of the reasons why  I like "Cantus Buranus & Cantus Buranus II by Corvus Corax".My musical tastes are quite eclectic. I listen to classical, world music, celtic, rock, metal, electric industrial, dark country, caberet, etc. Which could explain things also. cheeky

I've been enjoying "Yuve Yuve Yu by The Hu" of late, among other things,... which seems to have been fairly popular recently.

Hmmm... I couldn't find it either. I do seem to remember there being a portrait scene, though. Will look again.

Well, I think I remember "O Fortuna" in "Conan The Barbarian", but my ageing memory has played tricks on me before.  However, I definitely remember the incident in the record shop.  The actual song in the movie may have been one of the other small powerful pieces from "Carmina Burana" or perhaps the "O Fortuna" piece was used in one of the other Conan movies of the time.  But I definately remember knowing that "Carmina Burana" was the piece I was looking for once I heard the attendant say it.  Memories, wonderful, mysterious, twisted things.

My CD player will not play a CD but it will spin it. It had been neglected to the point of batteries getting corroded not to mention probably being dropped too much. It's lcd screen barely works. No clue what to do.

Ah, yes, "Sigfreid's Funeral March" from Wagner's opera "Gotterdammerung".  Incredibly powerful music.  Sends chills up my spine everytime I hear it.  Intense use of musical swells, they tend to 'splode your brain.smiley  Need volume, lots of volume and bass, lots of bass.  Rattle the walls.

Regarding the Red Skull portrait scene in "Captain America", did anybody actually find the scene in a YouTube video or anywhere else?  Perhaps it was cut out for some versions?  Perhaps licensing issues over the music?  Not really a Captain America fan but I'd like to actually see the scene.

It's about 15 minutes into the movie .... and it's only like 3-4 minutes section ,which is why fast forwarding you miss it .it is there . It comes right after the scene of the night before Rogers gets enhanced , if that's a help?
