I have a fair amount of Carribean pirate gear, but I'm trying to expand out to make more varied pirates and don't know what to call 16th-18th century sailors clothes from North Africa, India and Southeast Asia. Anyone have some suggestions? I'm using G8 figures, so I need stuff that can fit without too many headaches. I'm not, however, really worried about histrical accuracy as long as it's not "sexy pirate" stuff (not what I'm going for).
Thanks

Go hunting the kind of ethnic or period clothing that was worn in the area at the time you aretrying to depict and add grunge shaders. Or use fancy fbric shaders where the pirates are showing off.
I didn't think pirates had a bespoke tailor as such anyway, their wardrobe would be stolen, commandeered, adapted from their bounty or traded for like anything else, just as flamboyant as possible like gangbangers of today with their bling.
Perhaps, along the lines of what JOdel was saying, you might try looking for sailor's clothing of the period and place, since most pirates would have been drawn from the ranks of existing sailors. Once you have some examples of what you should be looking for you may be better to explore a kit-bashing approach to create the clothing, rather than an out-of-the-box outfit.
Thanks, everybody. I was thinking in lines of 18th century stuff from South Asia, India and North Africa, but I don't know what any of that stuff is called. I suppose this is a case where DuckDuckGo is my friend, and then to hope that whateve those things are called, somebody has made them. Some things (like Vietnamese hats) seems to be fairly timeless and availabe. Good point, JOdel, about making things dirty. Aargh, those pirates didn't have laudromats, matey.
Or faded. No modern dyes either.
