It seems odly appropriate that the promo shots show an empty restaurant - perhaps their was some prophetic vision by Toyen.

I was excited when I saw this because the outfit looks really nice...until I saw the shoes. I WAS a waitress years ago and there is no way...NO WAY that I or any waitress that I ever knew would wait tables and be on their feet all day long in high heels (I used to wear nursing shoes). It just doesn't happen. I might get it and find a different pair of shoes to pair with it, but I don't really NEED it, so...I dunno ;).

In most hotels after 1pm you'll only have a couple of stayovers in the restaurant so they'd reduce staff after lunch and close from 3pm to 5pm.
Depends on the restaurant. There are a couple of chain restaurants I know of where most of the waitresses wear fairly high heels, thoughI'm pretty sure that's just something they do to get bigger tips and not an official dress code. However, just to show that it's not completely sexist, there's also a pretty famous restaurant here in Houston where the waitstaff are all drag queens and they all wear high heels too. (My brother lives just down the street from there and he thinks it's hilarious to invite people to meet him there for lunch without warning them.) At one point, though, there were restaurants that required waitresses to wear high heels. I worked in a restaurant many years ago when I was much younger... let's just say that the president of the U.S. had the initials R.R... and the owners decided that they wanted the waitstaff to dress up for Halloween one year with only a few days notice. One of the ladies came in wearing what was basically a very form fitting one piece swimsuit, a pair of extremely high spiked heels and a little apron. When asked what she was supposed to be, she replied that she was actually wearing the "uniform" that she'd worked in for two years on a previous waiting job in New York. She never said what that restaurant was, but we all guessed that it was some kind of clone of the Playboy Club.
I'd swap them out for nurse shoes from just about any non-pinup nurse set that will autofit. What I was particularly pleased to see is that there's a skirt longer morph.
Yeh, it's been a while since I did it. I'd agree that they were a no-no.
