Maja  (G8F) by Valkyrie   Bashful Beachwear (G8F)      Greer Hair (G8F)       ColorWerx Hair Shaders for Iray

Hadn't used ColorWerx in awhile, it's my favorite hair shader. Maja is sold elsewhere, and her chest was greatly reduced. My Maja frankly looks so different than the promos at Rendo- doesn't even look like the same person! Reminds me of Barbie Benton.

Greer Hair is very disappointing with only three colors.

TIP: if you have lights on YOUR right (as you look at the viewport) try this in the Environment pane and see if you like the lighting results: (as shown with Maja)

    X/Y/Z Dome Orientation  120 / 120 / 40  and Dome Rotation 60

I just have to point out these two products, as I missed the details the first time around. First, go look at the thumbnails on this scooter, at all the different options you can turn this bike into!  Can be a one seater, two seater, have a luggage rack, etc!  Dolce Vita looks amazing!

Second, FINALLY high waisted jeans that are truly high waisted, to put with all those really short shirts. Check out AJC Cropped Style Outfit. I don't like the ultra high neckline of the jacket, but I am getting it for the jeans.

One I posted in the Rendo gallery and didn't remember to do here but it's been in my signature since the 12th. Shona is from Rendo, these products are from here. I wanted to test combining a regular hair with a sci-fi look (but the background gal is just the regular hair.)

Shona (Rendo) G8F   Cyber Hair (G8F)          Amelia Hair (G8F)       All That Glitters Outfit (G8F)

First, note the Cyber Hair. You can do SO MUCH with it. I didn't get the product initially and then looked at the morphs. You can turn this hair into a short, thick bob of segments if you like!  You can make the strands short, wavy, you name it, so give it a look. I applied the Ceramic Iray shaders to the segments. I think it goes well with Amelia and other short hairstyles (or longer ones) which don't have a lot of poof on top or the sides. Meet your future date, fellas!

Here's a fun tip for you, in case you haven't thought of it:

TIP: Use your lights to create backgrounds. Example, Maja above background was simply rendered with Dome On, Draw Ground On (don't know if that one makes a difference?)  without anyone in the scene. Change your XYZ Dome Orientation, and the Dome Rotation, to create fun backgrounds with different gradients. That one was made using the Click N Render IBL set.  Give it a try, make your own backgrounds yes

She does look a lot like Barbie! 1974 version at that!

Yep, here she is. The nostril wings are a bit wider and flatter, but otherwise, she's pretty close.

Oh no. A sailor aboard the USS Boxer has the virus. Military ships are jammed packed with berths, so many people have probably been exposed. Fortunately none of them are on the ship currently. Bahamas just had their first case, and the worrisome thing is- they don't know how that person got it- the source is unknown. There was no travel involved by the patient.

I've been monitoring that map site, take a look at this- (and here's the map. You can click the map and keep the different windows when you do, so you can compare later. The date and time are on the page in the lower left hand part of the page)

US case numbers, look at the jump in numbers:

    2572  on the 14th at 4pm
    3244 on the 15th at 1:30pm   +642   cases, about 21 hours later
    3642 on the 15th at 8:30pm   +398  SAME DAY 7 hours later.

So today, there's been 1,070 new cases since 4pm yesterday.

EDiT:   3774 on the 15th at 9:50 pm so add another 132   So that's 1,202 new cases since 4pm yesterday.

I've been modeling the data over the past week. Here's a growth curve covering the past 12 days, showing cases doubling every 2 1/3 days. That's why Ohio and other states are taking such drastic action. These are slightly different numbers than what you shared Novica (different database) and only up through 4 pm today, but don't be surprised to see numbers in the 4000's by that Monday evening. Time to stay home and render these products I've been buying.

I wonder if the curve will flatten like they're hoping, with the social interaction restricted. Pence is supposed to announce some sort of curfew tomorrow night, but the way it's written, it's not clear if it's a curfew for restaurants, or what it applies to. (It reminded me of some of the Daz promos, where you have to decipher what is applied to what...)

Here's one of the best illustrations of the value of social distancing I have seen: how to flatten the curve

    (Edited to correct the link)

Many states are doing it on their own. It was just announced that LA County was closing all bars, clubs, restaurants (to dine in but you can get delivery & takeout,) gyms, movie theaters, libraries, basically EVERYTHING except grocery stores and drug stores. I think the exact same restrictions as Italy, They also ask that EVERYONE over 65 or with medical conditions stay home and do not leave the house. Since I have asthma (and it's been pouring rain!) I haven't left the house since last Tuesday anyway. I just ran out of paper towels so will walk down the street to Rite Aid tomorrow and hope they have them in stock. The fact that this attacks the lungs really scares me because I have asthma! I'm glad they closed all bars now so St. Patrick's day won't be a mess. But I bet people will start hoarding alcohol (the drinking kind...) This could drive people to drink!

On national TV here they skipped a scheduled movie about some criminal who wanted to spread a dangerous virus that would spread globally, and sent a comedy instead.  Bad timing I guess.

At this time the current sale is working with Fast Grab items.  Don't know if it was intentional or not.

I just called in a prescription refill to Buckly AFB and they have gone to drive-by pickup only now. Luckly their building had a drive-thru window before this. And even in normal times a long line. So, depending on what I hear from my doctor about my message to him last night, I expect I will be sitting in a long line Thursday morning.

And maybe another drive-by line elsewhere this week to see if I have it. When they announced that they lowered the temperature for older people to 99.6F (they only just now realized older people don't get high temps to 104F - 105F, like little kids!) and I had had one for days at 99.8F along with many of the other symptoms, and I have a compromised immune system, well, sent email to my doctor on the hospital system. Now to see if it works.

Of course, I could just have a really bad cold or low-grade flu that is persistant, or allergies that are dragging me down. And of course last week my apartment was a revolving circus of maintenance guys trying to resolve 2 leaks caused by the apartment above me, the dryer vent clogged up which needed specialists called in to vacuum it out, and I just think about the number of people I was near. Including a guy I drove to the hospital for a medical test.

When you think you can have COVID-19, things can get real. I listened to the briefings, the debate last night, the news this morning, and then looked over the Daz shopping pages. For some reason, as nice as some of the items are, I don't seem to be wanting to shop.

@Wonderland, I hope you will be okay. I have had asthma before, bad enough to be hospitalized for 3 days. If there is any delivery service from a local store, look into that option maybe?

    Take care everyone,

    Mary

Update, no test, inhaler prescription for asthma.

Darb ckise!  Wow!  I often wonder who really owns our images. If we can create digital people that look like original's, who owns us. :-)

    Appropriate reading for these times:

    • Albert Camus "The Plague"
    • Edgar Allan Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death"
    • Michael Crichton's "The Andromeda Strain"
    • Richard Preston's "The Hot Zone"

And a good board game: Pandemic - this is a strategy game but unlike most, it's a cooperative game where the players all win or lose together. Each player has a special skill and working together to get the right skill to the right place is what it's all about. I've played with my kids and grandkids and everyone seems ot enjoy it.

As pointed out in the sales thread, Daz employees are now working from home.   Good catch by L'Adair.

Regarding that first case of the virus onboard a navy vessel- go figure.   Bet they don't have any more of those gatherings anytime in the near future, government guidance or not!

Well they are making assumptions that it was one of the members of one of the families gathered at the ship without the hard evidence. Truth is they don't know who the sailor caught it from and don't mention any civilians that were about the ship as quaranteened so it looks like an assumption they can't prove. Navy personal leaving the ship to wander about many different places is just as risky as the civilians they allowed on the ship. Unfortunately the report doesn't mention if the Navy or the news organization themselves are doing that thorough of an investigation.

Yep, no one knows. My point is, it's stupid to be doing any of those gatherings right now AND EVEN NINE DAYS AGO. This was in full swing last week.

Oh boy. 10:30am 4,661 US cases and 160 in Florida

NOON: 5204 and 191 cases Florida

So 543 in an hour and a half, 31 new in Florida. It's of course just because they happened to get a big report during that time.
