Yet another Pro-Bundle this week...?

CybersoxCybersox Posts: 9,397

GIven that today's promo is offering up to a 20% off on the next character pro-bundle, my guess is we'll be seeiing this by Thursday at the latest.  But what market niche haven't they mined yet?  IIRC, they've said there won't be a teen male this generation, so since it says character, that leaves more ethnicities, more toons or. possibly a leprechan given the timing..?

Yeah, that last one was a stretch and it'll probably be just another Caucasian female.in her apparent early 20s.  The Next Character speculation thread seems to have either petered out or I forgot the name, so anyone have a clue what we might be expecting?

Seeing as the last five characters were:

    • CJ
    • Dain
    • Leroy
    • Nida
    • Jonathan

I'd say it's actually been a lot longer between "Caucasian female.in her apparent early 20s" then we've seen in the past (CJ was definitely not in her early 20s). So, I wouldn't be super surprised or disappointed to see one tomorrow (hopefully with some diversity though...). All I really hope for is decent promo deal and some unique clothing :P

I can always keep hoping for Lilith 8.

But then, it's been a while since we had some toon/anime characters, so wouldn't surprise me if it was one of those.

You know what I'd really like to see?  Some younger ethnic bases.  Mei Lin has been getting older looking with each generation and ML8's skin and bone structure feel mid-thirties at best, while none of the Moniques have ever really looked much younger than early thirties to me.  If we're going to keep getting new G8s at the frantic pace DAZ has been maintaining, and there really aren't going to be any teen males, then the a set of ethnic teen girls with younger looking skins would be great additions to the line.  Especially since teens tend to get bundled with more sensible clothes.

Darcy 8 looked like she might be in her 20s to me. But yeah, the overall age point for most of G8 has been around 30, apart from deliberately older characters -- which were very welcome, thank you -- and the usual stylized/Toon figures which always tend to look either young, or ageless.

I would be happy with anything but Caucasian Characters, I feel we have plenty of those at the moment.

If i could choose what etnicity, I don't think I've seen any Arab characters and that would be interesting (I would prefer female first but male would be cool too).

I kind of like all those new pro bundles even though I've not bought a one. They'll hone what's working and what isn't.

Just not another man with a dad belly, creepy face and comedically huge trapezius or a women with heavy nasolabial folds.

Like seriously, even bodybuilders don't have trapezius muscles like that.

A woman is 2mm taller than the perceived "normal" everyone calls out "realism", guy has traps you can bobsleigh down and roid abuse muscles, no one even blinks. cheeky

I kinda blame the 80's action hero cycle followed by the post Batman superhero phase for that.  Arnold in his early films and Stallone's Rambo look were ridiculously over the top, but when they started scultpting the actors body's entirely with what are essentially prosthetic body suits and then digitally enhancing that, realistic perceptions of what male bodies should look like went off the rails.  Everyone talks about the horrible things that actresses and models do to stay in camera-ready shape, but have you ever heard Hugh Jackman talking about the training reginmen he has to endure every time he plays Wolverine? It's nuts.

Yeah, I'd really like Cat 8 too, but this is going to be a character, so the best we could hope in that vein for is a DAZ version of Taylor Swift in CATS...

Yes. It's probably heavily influenced by that type of thing. To be honest if they just fixed the strangely short arms and bizarre trapezius muscles it wouldn't be quite so bizarre and unnatural.

It's also weird how theres all these ridiculously unnatural muscled guys, but not a single "8" DAZ woman with "significatly larger than normal" or "surgically enhanced" breasts. Though everyone would probably wildly protest about it.

Though slightly mean, all the bizarre muscled pro bundles should soo have a "roid" morph for the anatomical elements for "realism"... laugh

I reduce the trapezius on all the new chars. Dain 8 looks so ridiculous that even when I used 40% of his body to combine with another character it was too much and I had to reduce them.

I would love to see the Guy 8 as I dial in Girl 8 into nearly every character I render about 30%, would love to be able to do the same for the dudes.

That's why I actually liked Jonathan, his body is pretty "normal" compared to the other male characters. And I obviously skipped Nicholas, I have totally zero interest in that inflated abomination. I'd rather render George in lingerie.
Before we had Jonathan, I found Olly the most realistic male character for that very same reason: he was the only character with a normal body. Just his hands were a bit oversized, and I had to combine him with head morphs from other figures to get a less comedy appearance. But his body was the most realistic of the entire G8M collection.

It's kinda out there, but I think it would be neat to see an Undead 8 at some point; basically a zombie character with add-ons to make other creepy or fantasy creatures like ghouls, a grim reaper, skeleton warriors, mummies, and such. At the moment, we usually need multiple products that don't always combine well or cannot be combined at all to make things like that.

I'd like that if for no other reason than that there still aren't enough dirty/ torn/shredded clothes available, though Smay's recent release was a huge boon.  One can only do som much with shaders and opacity maps and I'd love to see some d-force set that emulated the old destroyed clothing images on classic paperback covers, ranging from the "bodice-ripper" romances, the action hero images of the mens adventure magazines and especially those shirts from  James Bama's legendary Doc Savage covers.

But hey, forget the zombie as a base... make that an add-on for what I REALLY want - a new set of fitted skeletons with add-on internal organs for the newer figures.to replace the old V4/M4 anatomy packs.

Um... let's see... Eat food he actually likes the taste of.  Not spend hours pumping weights.  Sit on the sofa and relax.  Finally read that third 50 shades book.  Sing show-tunes and dance around his mansion in his tighty whiteys (it is Hugh Jackman we're talking about, right?)  Go on holiday to Fiji and sit by a pool that isn't his  own pool.  Roll in his piles of money.  Make prank phone calls to Patrick Stewart (Old Stewie ALWAYS falls for that hold your nose, talk in a funny voice and ask if he has Earl Grey in his cupboard joke.)  Send letters to Paul Hogan reminding him who the most sucessful actors from Australia are. ..

Yeah, I can think of plenty of things for him to do, actually.   :)

I'd like to see either a character from South America, North African (Berber or Moor), or as someone has suggested, Middle Eastern.

Also, if someone is doing ethnic characters, and we have facial morphs ranging from young to old?

I mixed in Toon Dwayne 8 at about 30% + Toon Hero at about 30% and it's a bit more 'toon' than Girl 8 & girlfriends but it works pretty good. Cartoonized has morphs to help too.

You could probably change to 20% for above to get to Girl 8 style exaggerations.

Cool. I would like a traditionally modeled Classic Monsters Pro Bundle for Halloween: Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolfman, The Mummy, Ghost(s), Devil (traditional: Pan style goat lower body, Pitchfork, 2 Horns, Red Skin, Fangs, Long Tail like an Arrow), Bride of Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, and the The Wicked Witch. Having a Ichabod Crane, Jack O'Lantern, and Scarecrow in the Pro Bundle would be nice too. By traditionally I mean easy on the gore and more like the early cinema and grade school representations of those characters.

..yeah , I always preferred David over Mike and the other later hunks. Just need a normal looking male figure.  Wish there was a David 7 but I have the G8 - G3 converters.
