@tjohn - aww, so lovely. Not even a dog person but just such a lovely pose and such lovely feelings.

@Serene-Night - such gorgeous renders, such a gorgeous character. Making me wish I had the money to restart with G2.

@Novica Really love the Gem/Angelo render it feels like you're intruding just by looking. Also love the Kerry-Ann render. One can never have enough ethnic skins.

Ok just noticed that there is a M4/V4 50% off sale: http://www.daz3d.com/m4-v4-sale . There is a 40% off 2013 top sellers for PC Members: http://www.daz3d.com/2013-top-sellers There is also a code for 10% off a renewal of pc membership.
Both sales are stacking with the Light up My Life sale. http://www.daz3d.com/sales-promotions#light_up You need to have one of the qualifying new items in your cart though. The easiest way to find items to stack is to look for 40/50% items here: http://www.daz3d.com/light-up-my-life-store-sales

Tjohn- that is definitely a feel-good render- the relaxation of the dog and man, and the bond between them is very apparent. Sorry to hear about Jack's passing, hope you had many good years. I like the background- it's got a lot but doesn't detract from the main characters. What kind of dog was he? Looks like a retriever of some sort?

If you don't mind, please copy/paste three or four of your products and put them in your post. Two reasons- I don't want people to have to leave the thread to get information, and second, the galleries are very slow for me. It sits and spins for two or three minutes- very frustrating. If folks want to see every product, they can surf in to the gallery, just put your main set and characters for here. I'd also encourage people to surf in over there and leave comments :)

Thanks! My Jack was a Jack Russell Terrier. I used a Yellow Lab in the image because he seemed a good fit for the old fellow in the render.
The render was more about the closeness of the special relationships we have with our animal friends as the years go by.
I hear you about the products...will do.

For those who don't have the dog or puppy bundles there's a great deal in Fast Grab right now.

Anyone try this? Looks good for $3.98 for easy experimenting.
Luci- love your list. Opus Magnum and the jeans are real goodies!

@Novica: Ethnique: Alexis S4 V4 look great. I also like that backdrop.

@Luci45. Your list has a lot of stuff I simply adore on it, and use quite often.

Hmmm. Wishing there was something I actually wanted to buy on sale right now. I kind of wish the sales were flat percentages.

Isn't march madness supposed to be on us soon?

Basically, I am getting 75% off my entire order. Things are coming up between $3 and $5. I only added one of the Light Up items (the boots as they are the cheapest) For example, Midnight Huntress for Genesis 25.95 is only $5.68 I basically have tested /have in the cart 24 items for $107, including several bundles, so add 4 more products and its really 28 items for $107 or $3.82 a piece. Wow.

Heads up though- the site went down a few minutes ago (panic time) Then when I tried to checkout with Paypal it said "Fatal error" and it took me a couple tries. So I wouldn't dilly dally if you are getting great deals.

I got quite a few Ignus products as the prices were really low and I don't have much Egyptian. My sister is a teacher and I can do something with those props/sets and make the outfits a bit more family friendly with experimentation. Picked up a sparkly shader, etc. Trying for some practical stuff but went for some fun too! Also got one of the gel lights (colored.)

Glad to hear that you got some useful products, I picked up a few of Ignus' items as well. Is it just me or have there been a lot of these glitch stacking sales recently? I full expect this one to disappear once they notice.

Does anyone have Poolside? I tried to load the gazebo and got this "file not found" error message. Uninstalled and reinstalled, same thing. using DIM.

Thanks, I'll try that path but can't at the moment- I did it from the Products list and it's a no-go. Can't test it as I'm rendering, I just went with a different gazebo. It just keeps stating over and over that the file isn't there when I get to Poolside from Products. I assume you loaded yours with DIM?

Jaderail- that's not Poolside. That's the Dreamhome one (that I AM using- what a coincidence!) I didn't notice you tested the wrong one until I looked at it and thought, "Wait a minute, those circles in the grill look just like the one I'm using. Is Poolside and Dream Home the same gazebo????" I had no problem loading up the entire scene from the Dream Home Yard And Pool- it's POOLSIDE gazebo that is a no-go.

Opps, But I only got the one Dream home Backyard. All installed by DIM. Hmm... I'll double check.

This is the full set... pool and all for DH.... Is the one I loaded.

EDIT more your post above is the DH_Yard it was updated at one time so I no longer have the dsf your trying to load.

Your content is out of date. Poolside IS that set. I just double checked Loads this Gazebo. Poolside just has EXTRA props...

EDIT: thought about this a bit. If you never Closed DAZ Studio your Data pointers are still pointing to the OLD file location. Always exit DS uninstall and Install with DIM with DS closed. Pointers do not UPDATE unless DS is closed. YOU should have the very same content I do. If it does not Update It could be a DIM setting or a Bad DL of the content.

They should know that the software is stacking after it does it a few times- Magento is a bunch of modules I believe and maybe it's the way they are working together that is hard to predict. I never used it when I had my online business.

Currently rendering Nick (Morris) and Megan (Morris) but it will be three hours or more, and headed to bed (it's 5:20am here.) Looks like some of you are in the path of a winter storm, with another one only a few days away (here in the States.) It was 68 degrees here in Florida today, had my windows open and watching cardinals chirping at the birdfeeder. A nice change! Then tonight will be blanketing the horse again. Sheesh.

G'nite/morning. Have fun with all your new purchases.

    Nathen
Another Morris character. I was fascinated by the very pale skin that looks so natural in the promos.

I like her M4 version the best I tried using EHss, and to me the skin looks better without it even with UE. I fiddled with the settings a lot, adjusting velvet, SSS color, and specularity. The Genesis EHSS ones look chalky or pasty to me but if I turn up the specularity there is too much shine and the skin just burns out. I find it very hard in general to do lighting for very pale skin and Nathen is very frustrating. But I will keep trying... :grrr:

He is on sale for 50% off.

No new renders to show at this time, but I did use Morris's Aiden for M5 for the central character in this render, which is one of my favorites that I have done. It's an excellent texture. I used it for my avatar as well.

I'm running an errand and just checked the render that started last night, it did turn out so I'll post Nick and Megan later tonight. They are in the Outback (from Easy Environments.) Thought I'd make some of the Morris characters world travelers :) The Outback lights are good, I only added one spotlight!

Megan is very pale and I used 213 / 199 /176 it's a very dull grayish mauve and matched Nick really well. Diffuse 100% and glossy 70.8%
Lights are 255/246/230, a dull pink- 78.5% on the main one. If that helps?

The Noi Due Poses by Muscleman (Render The Vendor) again worked very well on Generation 4 figures, even though they are for Generation 6. Seriously, get these on your wish list! :) Minor tweaking- just raised his hand a bit and moved it over to put it in her hair instead of by the cheek. She nestled into him quite nicely, no adjustments.

Nick has a nice skin tone, I did add a spotlight to the face, but otherwise it is just Outback lighting (turn down the main light by about 10%)
He is wearing Bad Boy For M4, which has a lot of easy adjustment morphs. I needed to do several for the shoulders, Nick is a bit buff in that area. I used the JSMR Shoulder D at -13.5 on him with this shirt.

I used the hair that came with him and also the scruffy face option. He has a few eye color choices as well.

Megan is very pale, somewhat glossy. I turned specular down from 100% to 85% and I like it a lot better. As previously mentioned, I used 213 / 199 /176 for the diffuse- it’s a very dull grayish mauve and matched Nick really well. Diffuse 100% and glossy 70.8% Lights are 255/246/230, a dull pink- 78.5% on the main one. I do not like the choice of makeups- either none or very "in your face." I used the "none" and did the lip color myself to put on lipstick.

Megan is wearing B2Basics Jane and the top creases quite heavily under the breasts on Megan. I had to touchup to remove a definitely horizontal line. Not that impressed with the fit there, but the shoulder straps were very easy and lay quite nicely. The sides don't gap out that much either, so that was a plus. The Casual Wear cargo pants fit like a breeze, no adjustments.

She is wearing End Of Summer Hair (which the search tells you does not exist BTW) and no adjustments. As others have previously mentioned , this hair is really wonderful.

Easy Environments: Outback- can be populated quite easily with the tree provided (there is more than one- one is dead, the other isn't) There was only one tree added to the background, and it is quite full. This set has excellent lighting, be sure and test it out on some other sets.

Taranis- a great floor and fountain that characters can actually sit on- be sure and check it out. The floor is great for outdoor patio scenes, I was very pleased. Other floors I was looking at included Corner of the Garden, Hot Tub Pergola, DM Mirador, and Brenin Patio. This one worked so I didn't try the others, but if you don't have Taranis, give those a look. :)

The 100 Essential Emotions have some great subtle ones- not overdone, just a hint. And the captions on the expressions will tell you exactly that- subtle.

    Whew- that's all folks :)

Yep, I went back into the featured store with all the boots and shoes for all the generations and picked them up for about $1.39 or so apiece- I didn't have much footwear for V4 and with all the characters I have, it was a good deal. I liked the workboots- look like hiking boots.

I am going to be offline for a bit- ATT says they can not get my internet going as we are in a "problem service area that will be restored at 8:30pm tomorrow night." OMGosh, are they serious? I'm calling the cable company tomorrow and comparing rates, my neighbor has them (I called her the minute I got off the phone with ATT) and she really likes them. Adios ATT. Glad I got that render posted- it went down about five minutes after that! I'm on hubbys computer right now ,but he takes it to work so I'll shop tonight then be gone tomorrow. Ya'll have fun!

    Todays Review:
    Mahala for Genesis 2 Female(s)
    By: Saiyaness

    http://www.daz3d.com/mahala-for-genesis-2-female-s

    Other Content Used:

    http://www.daz3d.com/mavka-hair-for-genesis
    http://www.daz3d.com/dream-hair

    Mavka Hair (Smay)
    Dream Haira (Daz 3d)

I really am always on the lookout for dark-skinned characters especially for genesis 2 characters where they are scarce. When I first saw Mahala, I admit the promo art did not appeal to me.

However, I decided to check her out, because I was interested in her skin for use on other characters, and I’m so glad I did. Her skin is beautiful and renders nicely. She has multiple eye colors, nice strong brows, a shadow sclera texture, a figure shape, a head shape, and an actor preset. She has a softer bmp and a stronger bmp for variety. She has lovely nails. She doesn’t appear to have a natural no makeup texture, which I would like.

    THOUGHTS:

She is incredibly thin; so some poses designed for buxomer characters will need adjustment. At times her hands can look a touch large to me. The texture applied to other gen 2 females looks great. You can really see the detail of her freckled skin on her arms and chest.

She is quite dark, so an additional pointlight may be needed to brighten her features. Make sure to try the darker sclera or her eyes will look too bright. I will probably test her with different eye textures.

    1. Image 1 is the character with her default shape.
    2. Image 2 is the character’s skin applied to the character Danika
    3. Image 3 is the character’s skin applied to the character Olympia

Mahala has a uniquely beautiful skin which I will certainly use to enhance my figures. She is different than other characters sold at DAZ.

@Novica: I really liked your renders of Alexis and Kerry-Ann. The Songstress outfit and Evan hair look great too. Nice use of the Outback in your Megan/Nick render. Flipmode's environments are superb and I really like the Outback one.

@Tjohn: Lovely render. Sorry to hear about your dog. It's always sad when our animal friends leave us. You've captured the man's friendship with the dog in your render perfectly.

@SereneNight: Aspen looks good in your renders, in the render with gray diffuse she looks best imo. Mahala seems like a nice character judging from your renders, she has a very unique looking skin.

@Luci45: Nathen looks good. I like his freckled skin.

@Scott-Livingston: Nice render. Aiden looks quite good in it.

@Sasje: Very nice render. Thanks for bringing to my attention that pose sets and the shirt.

I'm now rendering Stephanie 5 Elite Texture Joanie by DAZ 3D and Morris.
