Particle Thread by DimensionTheory

Hi guys, I haven't been around for some time, but I am now at a stage in which I am seriously starting to work with particles and physics.

A Youtube tut by Cripeman referred to a very good thread by DimensionTheory about the uses of particles, but I simply cannot trace it. Can anyone please direct me there, as well as to any other good tuts on this site?

Thanks a lot

I believe that the thread is in the "old" forum. I can't seem to find it at the moment.

    However, you might start here...

Thank you so much for the replies. FractalDimensia -- that is a great link you gave me. Bless you!

Philemo - thanks for the link, but it only opens a blank page. here is the Url: http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=117656&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Is there anything one should do to be able to access the old archives (which I presume it is) ?

The "forumarchive" is severely broken. You need to keep re-trying links untill they decide to load, otherwise all you get is a blank page. Once the link decides to begin loading, it takes twenty to thirty seconds to finish loading... every time.
Images that were embedded in posts do not display. However embedded YouTube links still seem to work.

Aahh ... after a long wait the link eventually loaded.

    Thanks!

Yeah, and the pictures are all gone, too... but there's a way to copy their tags and reformat them to show in your browser, if you want. I don't remember how - I just don't have the patience for that.

Holly rescued the First Steps in Carrara Bullet Physics, by 3dage, at the Carrara Cafe, but I couldn't get the link because the tutorials page at the Cafe wouldn't open for me... Internet sure is messing with me today!

TO show an image from the old forum archive You take this bit

    "image "

You copy this bit postimages/origimage_1_1920375.jpg and you add it to

    http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/

    so then you have http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/postimages/origimage_1_1920375.jpg

and oh look it's a pretty picture when you click on it.

and I am glad I remembered that all, and it works  even if I can't get the bit of html to show as I want it to in this forum

    LOL!!!
Yeah! That's it!!! Bravo on remembering that... and it DOES work! I've started trying that when I was building the info thread - trying to get some good old forum links going... um... no. Too slow... too much time... but it does work!
    Bravo chohole!
