watching some recipes on utoob  omg,  he's frying bacon in butter for potato soup.

I never fry bacon,  it's either grilled or griddles.  But if I was going to fry it I ouwl fry it in it's own fat.    baco does not need extra fat added.  and especially not butter,  totally different taste.   That;s just showing off for the camera

..that's why using a cast iron skillet is such a good match as the bacon cooks in it's own fat and helps to season the skillet's surface at the same time.

You should try the Bacon Method

nope,  after the years and years  I have cooking, raised 2 boys and a stepson as well from the time he was 13 and turned all 3 boys out being able to cook.  Youngest son was able to cook a Sunday dinner for 5 at the age of 13,  elder son became a chef, eventually an award winning chef, before moving to Ireland and become the head chef of this Hotel

I really think I will stick with my own way

    ...nice and congratulations.

I love to cook, I come form along line of chef's and bakers, just never felt I could do it for 100 or more people every day.

Speaking of which, going to cook up a pot of Jambalaya with Andouille sausage tonight.  That should last a couple days. Also still have a couple containers of Thai peanut curry chicken (with real chopped peanuts that I slighty toasted in black sesame oil) in the freezer that I cooked up back on Wednesday.

  • Complaint:  I sold a DAZ image to a web customer.  But my customer couldn't get my "PayPal.me" access to work.  It seems to work for me.  And after calling PayPal helpdesk they confirmed everything seemed to be setup OK but after three tries my customer still reported not reaching my pay page.  This was my first time trying to receive money via PayPal instead of in person or via postal mail.  Very unhappy and frustrated. sad

I think you've been had.  Be careful if this person asks for more personal information because "paypal doesn't work".  Could be an attempt to perform a Moneyectomy from your bank account.

You didn't ask for a deposit on this sale?

Raising young men to have a strong skill that allows them to feed themselves and others.  Social skills and lower risk of food poisoning; well done, well done!

And I'm with you, bacon doesn't need butter!

Oh god, I hope not.surprise  It was the "paypal.me" process that failed.  I called the paypal helpdesk and they said that alternatively he could send payment using my email address.  So I gave it to him and the money has now been received in my paypal account.yes  I've given him no other information.  I'm a neophyte with paypal and this is my first attempt to receive payment.

That basically what I meant by a griddle,  only mine is not cast iron  but a multi material build as it is a multi use pan, desigend for 1 or 2 people   The long section is true griddle   I experimented and cooked some fried bread in the bacon dripping and got striped fired bread, which tasted really nice with the rest of the stuff I cooked (full english)

...nice concept.  I just gave up on coated cookware as it eventually begins to break down. Even Ceramic as it requires use of plastic utensils to not scratch the surface.

The Cast Iron griddle I have is one of these.

I also have two large skillets and one small one, all properly "seasoned".

They do make a divided ones but they are hard to find and expensive.

You just went through a complete rebuild to factory original conditions.  There will be a LOT of updates.indecision  It may take days to cycle through all the updates necessary if you just let it do the updates on its own schedule.sad

HOWEVER, you can speed up the process by manually forcing another search for updates immediately after one update cycle is complete.enlightened

After an update is complete and the system has rebooted itself and you've logged in again, type "updates" in the search field at the bottom left of the taskbar but don't hit the "RETURN" button and you should see the search results and near the top of the search results in the "Best Match" category should be the choice to "Check For Updates"  click on that choice (or if it is the top choice then just hit the "RETURN" button) to bring up the "Windows Updates" dialog, then in the right half of that dialog (the white area) even if the dialog says you are up-to-date, click on "Check For Updates" again to force another update cycle.  Let it do it's thing and it may ask you to reboot, but each time after it's done with an update cycle, check for another update cycle.  Eventually you'll really be done.  The updates don't get processed any faster, but you eliminate the normal scheduling time between updates.yes

...a number of times when I clicked on the link for the sale items I found some of the items are still considered new releases so they don't qualify when I try to use a coupon code.  For example on a couple occasions I tried to purchase the Winter Fae character even though she has been out for a while, but apparently is still flagged as being a "new release".
