HOW DO YOU USE Plaster Collection Merchant Resource - Vol1

https://www.daz3d.com/plaster-collection-merchant-resource-vol1

The product page says: "All Textures come with the following Maps: DIFF/AO/NORM/SPEC/DISP/ALBEDO".  And they're right.  They  do.  But they seem to be all installed into a folder called GENERAL.  So you get all these various and seperate different types of image files.  But what do you do with them?  Why aren't they installed into a MATERIALS folder, or a SHADER PRESETS folder - where you see an icon of what you get, and you click on it, and it applied all the correct texture maps in the corrrectr place.  They say their product is "Game Ready".  So, how exactly do you apply these textures to a surface in your scene?

  • In Daz Studio, select your model and go to the Surfaces tab.

    • Normal Maps in that channel
    • Specular Maps can be used in the spec channel but can sometimes be used in other channels as well
    • Displacement Maps are not often used in Iray from my experience, but some have. You can definitely use them in 3DL.
    • Albedo Maps go into the diffuse channel

As to their settings, I would look at the model you intend to use. It likely came with material presets. Look to see where the specular map was used and if in more than one channel. Check if it used displacement was used. Check for the strengths used. Try those settings with these new maps and adjust as needed. Once you have done a set up, you can create your own material preset.

To use in Studio you would just create a Shader Preset for them then you could apply them to what ever you want  ,Personally I'd rename the "General folder to something else , like PCMR ,then follow Cris's instructions and save them as a Shder Preset.
