map selector disappears

There's normally a down arrow next to some of the settings like this:
But sometimes they just disappear, like this:
Anyone know why that happens? It seems to show up for some skins but not others.

Though chewybabe25's solution is to manually edit the material file. Are there any more solutions?
It depends upon the Shader that was applied to the models.
