...yeah just staying home as I mentioned earlier.  Not only don't have the funds to spare for even a couple drinks, but it's been pouring the last couple hours. Besides, champagne gives me headaches. too much sugar.  Have a little cognac left so will toast the New Year in with that.

..while waiting for the new year here, I checked out some of the pyrotechnic celebrations around the world.  London and Sydney had their usually dazzling shows, Dubai did more of a combination projection and pyrotechnic display focused on the 3,000' Burq tower, several in Japan were almost jaw dropping in how well they were choreographed and the size of some of the shells they used, Rio totally lit up the sky for 15 minutes (was like a 15 min grande finale), and New York put on their usual impressive (as well as long) harbour display using 6 barges (one that caught fire at the end). Hong Kong and Paris were sort of weird this year as they seemed to go more for light shows than pyrotechnics.  No launching from the EIffel Tower in Paris anymore (instead they used the Arc de Triomphe on which they also projected a lot of digital displays)

However, the one celebration that really caught my eye was Lisbon, Portugal, It lasted about 13 minutes, and was pretty much nonstop, What I thought made it spectacular was they also used the rooftops of several building in this one a square along with as barges on the harbour  I must say it came very close to rivalling London.

Ah, just turned  00:00 here Happy new year once again and indeed, hope it is a much better one for all of us..

Nope.  If I did not have to visit the restroom, I would have missed it too.

What uses more data up faster?  Downloading videos or streaming the same video?  I only have 3 or 4 gigs of data on this phone but I am trying to figure out which one is better to do.  Or should I just wait till I get to WiFi and download it there?

I know the mall is open because I am at the mall.  In a little bit I need to start something called work.  I need to do what they ask because they pay me to do that stuff.  It is not hard stuff but stuff like cashiering, making drinks, and similar.  Doing fries is hard for me for some reason it is hard for me to read the screen that says what fries are needed.

I am also attaching a WIP PDF of the story I will work on in January.  It is definitely a rough draft but it was fun to write.

I am trying to decide if I am tired of life or just the crappy situation I find myself in.  Either way things right now suck.  Today was not a good day unless something happens to help it finish with a wonderful ending.  I feel stuck in a hamster wheel.  I feel like if I leave the hamster wheel, I would still be in a tiny hamster cage with a hamster wheel.  Guess I am not Miss Bad Wolf anymore but Miss Bad Hamster.

...generally speaking, when red meat isn't part of the main course or the dinner is not very spicy, a "lighter" wine is more in order   Pinot Noir is a dark wine so a Pinot Grigio/Gris, Fume/Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay would be more appropriate.

...I put my money on the "crappy situation".  You really need to get out of that place and into one that is more supportive.

True but it ain't happening today.  I cannot even watch Badgers vs Ducks today because the ESPN app wants some kind of tv provider.  WTF?  If I had cable TV or sling I would be able to watch it with that but alas I do not.

Going to Hulu to find This is Us, but this is not it as this is an ad.  Why are there ads when I paid to get a month of Hulu?

Why did I pay for a month of Hulu?  Oh yeah it was a bundle thing with Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu.

Who are the Kardashians and why do I want to keep up with them or their show?   I do not know.

...yeah that's one of the reasons why I dropped cable years ago.  You pay a high bill and have to suffer through adverts.

As I've mentioned before, I remember when "pay television" was advert free, that was the whole selling point and attraction to plopping down so much each month. Today it isn't any different than what old broadcast television was save for you get hundreds of channels (most of which are rubbish).

Having to keep track of the Rose Bowl through the ESPN site's "Gamecast" which is not a live broadcast.  Too broke to go to the pub to watch live.  Current Score 14 - 10 Oregon (dumb penalty on the Badgers' part resulting in a missed field goal followed by back to back Badgers' turnovers in Wis. territory giving Oregon a short field).

Depends on how long the tartufo is... also, if it's in space and it's massive enough, it might have its own gravitational field and depending on how strong that gravitational force is, it might not even be possible to walk off it without the assistance of a rocket or really powerful flatulence... but in that case you wouldn't be walking off it, you'd be flying off it and that's a different question entirely...

    So... no idea.

Even when cable was new, some channels you paid for still had commercials.  Like MTV, Turner Broadcasting, ESPN, etc.  Nothing has really changed except there are more channels like that now.  And some are full of crap, but still want you to pay for them.  Like all those stupid "reality" shows.

Even premier channels, like HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, etc., had commercials, but they were commercials about other shows or upcoming events on the channel.

...yeah I wish I could have just paid for the channels I usually watched instead of all the rubbish I didn't need or want (and that was when there were only 99 channels, not "nine hundred and something-something" like today).
