  • If I might make a suggestion? Try finding a hair similar to the style you are wanting then apply the dForce Cloth Presets from the dForce Master Hair Simulator to it! The settings are fantastic and tend to flatten out the too poofy hairs and give a much more realistic look to them. I've attached a comparison render below using AprilYSH's Delphi Hair.
Left is default Hair, Middle is a lower dynamic strength and Right is a heavier dynamic strength. Both Sims were run for 5 minutes each.

How do you adjust the dynamic strength?

Very very beautiful results Elliandra, you've nice job adding dForce to that hair. Perhaps you can share some more tips/setup for that hair? I've had a little trouble adding dForce to that one in particular, though I am challenged in that department :)

I believe it is in the Surfaces->Simulation tab when your hair with a dForce modifier is applied. It is one of the options there.

  • Hi guys!
I've attached a zip file with the simulation settings for the hair along with a couple of thumbnails for it. Just go to your scene tab, select the Delphi Hair, apply the dForce to it from the menu on the simulation pane and apply the preset. This is for the Subtle version as IMHO it came out looking more natural. If you want the dynamics stronger you can raise the Dynamics Strength setting in the surface tab for Hair 1 and Hair 2. I did paint a custom weight map to keep the part where it was and not fall into the eyes but with the subtle settings it shouldn't be an issue. If you are having an issue with the part you can easily add a custom weight map of your own by going to the "Create:New dForce Modifier Weight Node" then in the scene make sure the new node is selected. Go to the Tool Settings Pane and select weight map from the top dropdown box. In the bottom half of the Tool Settings Pane you will now see a Weight Maps section, click on "Add Map" then you can use the paint brush to color in the sections you don't want to move. Red = Full simulation, Blue = Partial Simulation & Yellow or Grey = No Simulation

Whoa great tips and a generous gift with them! That seems to answer my problem of the hair part falling down the face (and it seemed a little worse when I use the free side part morph AprilYSH released). This works quite nicely now. Delphi hair is my favorite of this generation, and I'm hoping the PA will make similar styles with dForce enabled :)

    Thanks again Elliandra!

If you are having an issue with dForce hair falling on the face, and don't want to mess with modifiers, the following products come with 'Face Shields' to help with that issue.

Thanks for the preset Elliandra, really appreciated
